From manufacturing the first indigenous room air conditioner, to the introduction of innovative Split AC, to being the first to adopt energy efficient star rated products and later redefining air conditioning category with the launch of revolutionary All Weather ACs, brand Voltas has set and raised every benchmark.

Voltas consistently remains the largest selling AC brand in India with a largest category distribution network of 9700+ dealers spread across India, futuristically designed energy efficient products bouquet for the ever evolving consumer and a highly responsive post sales service network. Voltas is also a proud recipient of the National Energy Conservation Award 2013, conferred by the Honourable President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, in recognition of its promotion and sale of energy efficient products.

Voltas being the pioneer of cooling appliances in India has several accolades behind it: In 1954 - Voltas manufactured India's first indigenous room air conditioners. In 1969 - Voltas set up its first integrated plant in the country. In 1982 - Voltas introduced innovative split air conditioners. In 1993 - Voltas introduced the tall, elegant Slimline. In 1998 - Voltas introduced the microprocessor-based packaged unites. In 2004 - Voltas introduced the first sub Rs.10,000 air conditioners. In 2006 - Voltas introduced energy efficient/Star-rated air conditioners. In 2007 - Voltas introduced the first savings calculator. In 2008 - Voltas introduced the first Corner AC. In 2009 - Voltas took up cause marketing. In 2010 - Voltas took on an educative campaign through 'sensible cooling'. In 2012 - Voltas was the first to launch an all season compatible Air conditioner - 'All Weather AC'.
