GAS METERS :
A gas meter is a specialized flow meter, used to measure the volume of fuel gases such as natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas. Gas meters are used at residential, commercial, and industrial buildings that consume fuel gas supplied by a gas utility. Gases are more difficult to measure than liquids, because measured volumes are highly affected by temperature and pressure. Gas meters measure a defined volume, regardless of the pressurized quantity or quality of the gas flowing through the meter. Temperature, pressure, and heating value compensation must be made to measure actual amount and value of gas moving through a meter.
A defined volume of gas can be measured using a gas meter irrespective of the quality or pressurized quantity of gas that flows via the meter.
The volumetric flow rate of gas is measured using a range of gas meters. These meters are designed to detect the type of gas and a variety of flows.
Some major types of gas meter are:
1. Diaphragm Meters
2. Rotary Displacement Meters
3. Turbine Meters
4. Calibration of Gas Meters
Applications of gas meters:
1. They are used in offshore and onshore drilling rigs to detect and measure gas quantities.
2. They can be retrofitted to existing rig flare lines to measure gas volumes under managed pressure drilling and under balanced drilling operations.

As Vajra Iot is into AMR Modems, Today this post is about AMR modems for better understanding.

Automatic meter reading (AMR) is the technology of automatically collecting consumption, diagnostic, and status data from water meter or energy metering devices (gas, electric) and transferring that data to a central database for billing, troubleshooting, and analyzing.
This technology mainly saves utility providers the expense of periodic trips to each physical location to read a meter.
Another advantage is that billing can be based on near real-time consumption rather than on estimates based on past or predicted consumption.
This timely information coupled with analysis can help both utility providers and customers better control the use and production of electric energy, gas usage, or water consumption.

Originally AMR devices just collected meter readings electronically and matched them with accounts.
As technology has advanced, additional data could then be captured, stored, and transmitted to the main computer, and often the metering devices could be controlled remotely.

This can include events alarms such as tamper, leak detection, low battery, or reverse flow. Many AMR devices can also capture interval data, and log meter events. The logged data can be used to collect or control time of use or rate of use data that can be used for water or energy usage profiling, time of use billing, demand forecasting, demand response, rate of flow recording, leak detection, flow monitoring, water and energy conservation enforcement, remote shutoff, etc. Advanced metering infrastructure, or AMI is the new term coined to represent the networking technology of fixed network meter systems that go beyond AMR into remote utility management. The meters in an AMI system are often referred to as smart meters, since they often can use collected data based on programmed logic.

VEHICLE TRACKING SYSTEM:
With its simplest , a vehicle tracking system is the
system that allows tracking and controlling of vehicles via an
online computer, smart phone, tablet, etc. on a 7/24 basis
thanks to GPS satellites. Vehicle tracking systems make it
possible to have an instantaneous and history tracking of
vehicle speeds, the routes they followed, stopping points,
idling times on maps providing a registry and check point with
past and present reports.

GPS (Global Positioning System) is the satellite navigation
system that provides location and time data in all weather
conditions by way of four or more satellites for the aim of
detecting position of the GPS receiver in any accessible line
of vision around the globe vehicle tracking solutions combine sophisticated GPS tracking
technology with flexible, advanced mapping and reporting
software. A GPS-enabled vehicle tracking device is installed
on each vehicle to collect and transmit tracking data via a
cellular or satellite network, whichever works best for your
operations.

The device then delivers the data to the application, which you
can access through the web at any time. You receive real-time
vehicle tracking updates, including location, direction,
speed, idle time, start/stop and more — allowing you to manage a tighter schedule and a more efficient fleet.

1.Vehicle tracking devices send a new GPS location update a
minimum of every two minutes and typically more frequently as the device changes status / direction
2.Tracker utilizes satellite coverage to send it’s GPS
messages, allowing you to track your assets in the most remote of areas
3.Tracking features include real-time mapping with automatic
refresh, live tracking from your cellphone, and detailed truck
activity reports.

VajraIoT has been founded by a group of technocrats in April 2009. Vajra is passionate about Innovative solutions, Digital Transformation and Smart monitoring & management of the last mile, which is an imperative customer ask today.
And as we all know, Vajra IoT is an ISO 9001: 2015 and
14001: 2015 certified.

But,

what is ISO?

In this post, let us explain briefly about ISO standards.
The International Organization for Standardization is a worldwide autonomous body for setting various global standards for quality management. It comprises of representative standardization organizations from various nations. Established in 1947, the ISO frames and promotes worldwide industrial and commercial standards.ds.

The ISO 9000 standard is continually being revised by standing technical committees and advisory groups, who receive feedback from those professionals who are
implementing the standard.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a non-governmental organization whose role is to facilitate the international coordination and the standardization of industrial standards. These standards contribute to the development, manufacturing, and delivery of products and services that are more effective, safer and clearer. ISO performs systematic reviews every 3-5 years to keep these standards up-to-date.

2015 version

The revision process adjusts them to changes in the environment with the aim of improving an organization’s ability to offer products and services that meet customer’s requirements. ISO has revised the world’s leading Quality Management System (QMS),
ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015.

ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization:

a) Needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and

b) Aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of
conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

All the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are generic and are intended to be applicable to any organization, regardless of its type or size, or the products and services
it provides.

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a vast number of “things” that are connected to the internet so they can share data with other things – IoT applications, connected devices, industrial machines and more. Internet-connected devices use built-in sensors to collect data and, in some cases, act on it. IoT connected devices and machines can improve how we work and live. Real-world Internet of Things examples range from a smart home that automatically adjusts heating and lighting to a smart factory that monitors industrial machines to
look for problems, then automatically adjusts to avoid failures.
The Internet of Things has had significant effects on our world.

-With the Internet of Things (IoT), we can understand the context to identify when we’re certain the customer needs help or an incentive to purchase, and we can respond proactively.
-Being connected through the Internet of Things – to send, receive and often act on data – results in many smart IoT things that we can use to build a more secure,
convenient, productive and intelligent world.
-Already, the Internet of Things capabilities plays a significant role in businesses’ digital transformation efforts. When we combine IoT data with advanced analytics and AI
– leading to the “Artificial Intelligence of Things” – the possibilities seem endless.
-Many industries use IoT to understand consumer needs in real-time, become more responsive, improve machine and system quality on the fly, streamline operations and discover innovative ways to operate as part of their digital transformation efforts.
-Some of the industries that use IoT are :
1.Retail
2.Manufacturing
3.Health Care
4.Transportation and Logistics
5.Government
6.Energy
