Same logic applies to your software. Networks drop, requests retry, people double-click without thinking. If your system isn't built to expect that, "twice" can mean double charges, duplicate orders, duplicate everything.

Developers solve this with idempotency keys, unique IDs that tell the server "you've already done this, no need to do it again."
