Here is how India will achieve its $1 trillion export target.
Not by relying on the same five or six cities that built today's $437 billion export economy, but by empowering the next generation of manufacturing hubs across the country.
The industrial base to support this ambition already exists beyond India's Tier-1 cities. A significant part of registered MSMEs operate in emerging manufacturing hubs such as Coimbatore, Rajkot, Hosur, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, offering lower input costs, access to raw materials, and the distributed production model global supply chains increasingly value.
Automation is the catalyst that can unlock this potential, enabling manufacturers to improve productivity, maintain consistent quality, achieve end-to-end factory visibility with remote monitoring, and scale competitively for global markets.
The $1 trillion export target is a geographical transformation as much as a manufacturing one.
In Episode 05 of Vision Talks, Dr. S Sriram, Director, COO - Mitsubishi Electric India and BU Head - FA Systems, examines what that transformation requires, where it is already happening, and what it means for every manufacturing leader building for the next decade.
