Open Software Testing course (OpenSTC) is free 3 months weekend course. OpenSTC is a social initiative to keep software testing trainings free.

So far, more than 1000 students have participated in Open Software Testing courses Conducted by the testers and for the testers. An initiative to help students and professionals to learn and practice the art and science of software testing. OpenSTC (today) stands for Open Software Testing Course. Our aim is to replace 'Testing' with 'Training' where we will cover other IT trainings also... for fre

e. Course starts every 3 months and its on every Saturday morning. It is conducted by IT engineers having around 8-12 years of experience in testing field. This is our way of giving back to society and making people more employable and improving the quality of testing. We are looking out for volunteers to help us reach to more people. Announcement: After a gap of few months we are back with the new batch for Manual Software Testing.

The next batch of OpenSTC (Free Manual Testing) course starts from 21st January, Sunday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Reporting time is 6:15 pm
Venue: Mauka, 2nd floor, above Pizza Hut, ITI Road, Aundh, Pune, India

Eligibility criteria:
1. Reading first three chapters of Ron Paton's book - Testing Computer Software.
2. Good analytical skills.
3. Graduation in any stream. (undergraduates will have to make way for people who have completed graduation )
4. Basic computer proficiency.
5. A desire to learn.

This course will be once a week( Saturday evening) course for two months. The course will cover the practical aspects of software testing through real-life case studies. Each session is carefully designed with a strong emphasis on test design, thinking skills, and defect detection.

The last entrance test for the next OPENSTC (free software testing course) is on Saturday, 10th September from 11am-12pm in Aundh, Pune. The purpose of the entrance test is to check basic computer knowledge.

About Entrance test:

Entrance test focuses on the following four areas (Clearing any two tests is important for selection): -
- Basic understanding of software testing (need for software testing and why it's required, etc )
- Basic SQL Basic queries (select, update, insert and basic joins)
- C programming-basics (only flow controls)
- Aptitude Test

Note: As this course if free of cost and we have limited seats, so it become important that each participant is highly committed and completes the entire course.

1. Good knowledge of Object Oriented principles using Java or .net or any language that supports OOPS
2. Laptop (Windows 7 32/64bit with minimum 4GB of RAM, 30GB free hard drive space and minimum 2 hours of battery backup )

OpenSTC - End of the Test automation using Selenium workshop.

OPENSTC- the free Manual software testing course starts on 31st January 2016. It will be a two and a half months course conducted on every Sunday from 10am-2pm.

Written test will be conducted on 9th, 16th and 23rd Jan from 10am to 12pm. Clearing the written test is important for the participating the course

The current OpenSTC (software testing) batch trying to crack the banking case study.

Case studies such as this help in understanding the actual implementation of test design techniques and testing principles while testing complex software.

The next free software testing course (OpenSTC) starts from January where software testing concepts are explored (not taught) through such case studies.
