Dnyaneshwar ( Mauli ) Vasant Kakade, Cybage Vendor. “In 2009, I came to Cybage to open a small ice cream parlour in the Towers cafeteria. I thought I was starting a business. I never imagined I was building a life. Over the years, I watched fresh graduates become leaders. Many of them have been here as long as I have. Former Cybagians living across the world still call to ask how I’m doing. Wherever I go, someone smiles and says, “Aap Cybage se ho na?” Somewhere along the way, my name and Cybage’s became linked. It’s more than a workplace. It’s become a part of who I am.
The respect I found here changed my life. When my in-laws heard I was associated with Cybage, they trusted me with their daughter’s hand. Today, I have two sons, one of them dreams of becoming a computer engineer, the other an athlete. That makes me hopeful.
People often ask me if I’m happy. I always say yes. Not because I have everything, but because I have enough. I came here to sell ice cream. Instead, I found trust, dignity, friendships that have lasted seventeen years, and a place that has given me an identity. Looking back, I realize that has been the greatest blessing of my life.”
