Hear it from Akshay a.k.a AK himself...!
Being an entrepreneur at heart and mind, I always held great passion towards working with start-ups. So, when Mazkara Internet (MI) happened in March 2016, I was flabbergasted with the way this company and its people functioned. Upon joining MI, I was bombarded with updates from all directions, new plans and expansion ideas. I was totally overwhelmed!!
MI had started off with its journey with a small bungalow, a basketball rink, a few dogs and a bunch of crazy people! That marked the beginning of a fun expedition.
Thereon, MI wore this new look of a swanky office with a game room equipped with a PS4 and an uber cool foosball table. The colourful walls and a “want to be a part of” vibe had me hooked, like nothing else ever has!
I joined MI with a little over 8 years of experience in the domain of Sales and advertising in the salon & spa industry. I commenced my journey with the sole objective of sharing my knowledge and experience with my team members and help shape the company better!
But man, have I achieved anything?
I started with operations and content and gradually got involved with marketing. Advertising is what I knew, but digital and Ad-words made me feel old. I spent nights studying and learning how to be a Google marketeer and how to manage the internet details, from growth of the website with regards to website traffic, goal conversions, display ads and more. Learning these technicalities helped me a lot. Not only that, I later started to manage Sales and Boy! Selling ads on a website to the Wellness industry in India is no layman’s job. The perseverance it takes is overwhelming, but that is exactly what Sales stands for!
My journey here in the last 18 months has been that of constant learning and development. Today I feel that I am in a much better position than what I was at when I first started off. Learning to be agile and the meaning of disrupting ideas are two of the most important elements that I have learnt, here at MI. This journey is something I would recommend to every budding entrepreneur.
The culture at MI has always taken me by complete surprise! We believe in hustling hard and partying even harder. Parties are a regular affair here and meal timings demand the coming together of all employees and mass orders are a regular. Pizzas and Game of thrones are integral components for survival here. We believe in celebrating the smallest of success and rewards for constant efforts are always an added bonus!
As Benjamin Franklin precisely put, “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, progress and success have no meaning." This is true for us Mazkateers. MI does not grow by mere chance, it grows by the efforts of each one that works towards it and the vision its leaders perceive.
My journey has downrightly been a roller coaster ride so far, but one that fills your work life with excitement and achievements to give a fulfilling career.
