What is the significance of burning Holika during Holi festival?

The story of Holika Dahan:-

There was a powerful king named Hiranyakashipu. He was a devil and also hated by many people for his cruelty. He considered himself to be God and also he wanted that everyone in his kingdom to worship him only. He punished and killed all those who objected to his supremacy.
But, his own son Prahlada, a Vaishnava, raised and refused to worship his father as a deity. Prahlada was a devotee of Lord Vishnu and so he continued believing in and worshipping Lord Vishnu. Angry with the disobedience of his son, Hiranyakashipu, made various attempts to kill Prahlada., but nothing worked.

Hiranyakashipu then asked his evil sister, Holika, for help. Holika possessed a special power of being immune to fire. So, She takes Prahlada in her lap and sits atop a huge fire. To the shock of Hiranyakashyapu, Prahlada walks out unharmed but Holika is burnt in the fire.
This is why the first day of Holi is celebrated as Holika Dahan and symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
