“Attacks against the mobile enterprise are becoming increasingly more sophisticated”

New ransomware malware named SLocker which encrypting all files and data on all android devices identified by Trend Micro.

SLocker is characterized as the first Android ransomware that uses file encryption

SLocker scans the device for image, document and video files and encrypts them using the AES encryption algorithm.

The malware then displays a ransom message to the user, demanding payment to provide the decryption key necessary to unencrypt the affected files.

This malware is able to collect sensitive information from the device such as its International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number and return the information to the rouge Command and Control (C&C) server that issues its commands.


Security experts stongly advised all the andriod device users to install antivirus, mobile device control and stay away from installing untrusted android apps.

IT team planned to install antivirus & enterprise mobility management software on all company owned devices to protect from ransomware / other malicious infection.

Users are kindly advised to co-operate with IT department for the smooth deployment of antivirus & mobile device management software.
