या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ स्कन्दमाता रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥
On the fifth day of Navratri, devotees worship Maa Skandamata, the compassionate fifth form of Goddess Durga. Her name is derived from “Skanda,” another name for Lord Kartikeya, the mighty war god and commander of the celestial armies. As the mother of Skanda, she is lovingly called Skandamata. Radiant and serene, the Goddess is depicted with four arms and three eyes, seated majestically upon a roaring lion, symbolising courage and strength. 🌸🦁
In her divine form, one of her hands is raised in the Abhayamudra, offering protection and fearlessness to her devotees. Her another hand tenderly cradles her infant son Skanda on her lap, reflecting her nurturing and motherly essence. The remaining two hands hold blooming lotus flowers, representing purity, wisdom, and spiritual awakening. Worshipping Maa Skandamata is said to bring not only blessings of strength and prosperity but also divine peace guiding devotees on their spiritual journey. ✨🙏
