Launch Date & Event: Apple is expected to unveil this all-new smart home hub on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, during a private "Welcome home" press event in New York.
Design and Hardware: The device reportedly features a 6-inch square display and will come in two form factors: a wall-mounted version and a tabletop version with a speaker base.
AI and Processing: It will be powered by an A18 chip (or newer) designed specifically to support Apple Intelligence, making a newly advanced Siri AI a central focus.
New Operating System: It is expected to run on a brand new operating system, potentially named "homeOS," which will feature clock faces, widgets, and multi-user support tailored for family use in shared spaces.
Proximity-Aware Interface: The on-screen interface elements will automatically adjust in size depending on how close or far away the user is standing from the hub.
No App Store at Launch: While it will come preloaded with core Apple apps like Calendar, Music, FaceTime, and a new Siri app, it reportedly will not support third-party apps or have an App Store at launch.
