The Privacy & Policy function at DSCI (Data Security Council of India), plays a central role at the Annual Information Security Summit (AISS) by architecting and running a dedicated POLICY sub-summit track. Over the years, this track spans 3–4 focused agendas covering Cybersecurity, Privacy, IT and Data Governance, and Artificial Intelligence - reflecting the pillars shaping India's evolving technology policy landscape.

Designed as a platform for multi-stakeholder engagement, the track brings together an eclectic mix of voices: policy makers, industry leaders, legal experts, IT and AI practitioners, researchers and academicians, and government representatives. Through a blend of formats — panel discussions, open house conversations, and closed-room roundtables — the track fosters candid, in-depth dialogue that goes beyond conventional summit sessions.

By convening this diverse set of stakeholders in a structured yet open environment, DSCI's Policy track at AISS 2026 aims to catalyse meaningful, forward-looking conversations that inform and shape India's technology policy discourse.

| IRDAI's Consultation Paper on “Public Insurance Registry - Digital Public Infrastructure for Insurance”

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) released a public consultation paper on the proposed Public Insurance Registry (PIR) in September 2026.

The consultation paper proposes PIR as a population-scale, interoperable Digital Public Infrastructure for insurance, with a federated data architecture that limits centralisation of detailed records. It outlines provisions relating to data minimisation, consent and privacy safeguards, stakeholder access, governance, and phased implementation across the insurance ecosystem.

DSCI is collating stakeholder inputs to prepare a consolidated submission on the proposed framework and invites stakeholders to share comments and feedback for consideration.

Share your inputs by September 28, 2026 at [email protected].
