It sounds like your son. It might be AI.

Voice cloning scams are getting harder to catch by ear alone. Three signs usually give them away:

1. A sudden emergency, money needed right now
2. A call from a new or unknown number
3. “Don’t tell anyone, not even mom or dad”

That urgency and secrecy is the tell, not the voice.

Hang up. Call back on the number you already have saved for them. If they pick up, you know. If they do not, you have your answer too.

Call back to verify. Every time.

A hash is how we prove nobody changed the evidence. Including us.

It is a fixed length code calculated from the contents of a file.

Change one character, one pixel, one bit, and the entire code changes
Calculate it before copying and after copying. Same code means the copy is identical
Calculate it again months later. Same code means nothing was touched in between
MD5 and SHA-1 are older and still seen on many certificates. SHA-256 is the current standard
Under Section 63 of the BSA, the hash value of the record has to be disclosed with the certificate

This is why forensic copies hold up in court. Not because we say so, the math says so.

A call says a courier package in your name was found with drugs inside. There is no package. There never was.

Here is how the script runs:

They call you, posing as a courier company, saying illegal items were found in a parcel with your name on it.
The call gets “transferred to the police.” Real agencies do not hand you between departments on WhatsApp or Skype.
“Customs” asks you directly for personal or financial details, or a payment for clearance. Indian Customs does not contact individuals directly about duty on a personal parcel.

No parcel. No case. Just a script.

If you get this call, hang up. Report on 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.

You searched for a helpline. The number at the top was placed there on purpose.

Fake customer care numbers rank on Google through paid ads and fake listings, right above the real support link.

Here is how they get you:
1. They ask you to install an app to "verify" your account
2. They send a request to "test" your refund
3. The number came from a search result or a listing site, not the company itself

A PIN never receives money. If you are entering a PIN to "get" a refund, it is already too late.

Always get support numbers from the official app or website, never from a Google search.

Bridging the Gap Between Classroom & Cyber Security Industry!

On 16th September 2026, we were delighted to welcome B.Tech Computer Science students and faculty members from SGT University to 3rd Eye Techno Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for an engaging Industrial Visit focused on Cyber Security.

The visit gave students valuable exposure to real-world Cyber Security practices through live demonstrations of industry-relevant tools and procedures.

The interactive sessions helped students understand how Cyber Security professionals detect, analyze and respond to evolving cyber threats—taking learning beyond the classroom and closer to real-world industry practices.

You just realised you were scammed. The money is not gone yet.

For a short while, it is sitting in an account someone can still freeze. What you do in the first five minutes matters more than what you do after.

Call 1930 before anything else. Speed is what helps here.
File a complaint on cybercrime.gov.in and save the acknowledgement number.
Tell your bank in writing. A phone call alone leaves no record.
Save everything, call logs, screenshots, UPI reference numbers, transaction IDs, the app if you installed one.
Delete nothing. Not the chat, not the app, not the caller's number.
Ignore anyone who offers to recover your money for a fee. That is a second scam targeting people who fell for the first.

The 1930 helpline and the national reporting portal have helped save Rs 7,130 crore across 23 lakh complaints so far.

Report early. Stop more scams.
