I had the opportunity to visit the painting exhibition “Unshelv ng Memor es”—a thoughtfully conceived show where the missing “i” in the title subtly invites viewers to insert their own imagination into the narrative. Curated by Shijo Jacob, Head of the Painting Department at the College of Fine Arts Thiruvananthapuram, the exhibition transforms books into vessels of visual memory, where pages once meant to be read are reinterpreted as surfaces for artistic exploration. The works gently “unshelve” memories, emotions, and forgotten stories, opening layers of imagination and possibilities for the viewer. Walking through the exhibition was an immersive experience that elevated my sense of visual thinking and curiosity. I extend my sincere appreciation to the curator and participating artists for the remarkable workmanship of this selfless act of unshelving, where art liberates memory from the quiet shelves of books and allows it to breathe again in new forms. 🎨📚✨
