Some units of Samsung's latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S5, are shipping with faulty cameras.

Many users, especially those with the Verizon version of the phone, have been complaining about a "camera failure" error message when they try to launch the camera app. Samsung confirmed the error in a statement to The Verge and said customers can trade in their faulty devices for a new one.

The news comes on the same day that Samsung released a new ad for the Galaxy S5 that boasts how its camera is better than the one in the iPhone.

The Galaxy S5's camera is really good when it works, though. In fact, it was one of our favorite features in the device when we reviewed it a few weeks ago. It's easily one of the best smartphone cameras every designed.

HTC design head Scott Croyle isn't the only executive leaving HTC. It turns out Ford Davidson, an HTC senior director, is also leaving the company. Davidson used to own a company called Dashwire, which he ultimately sold to HTC to help create its online sync tools. Geekwire first published Davidson's intentions to leave, and it's unclear if they are at all related to Croyle's departure.

“HTC recently launched the new HTC One (M8), which is amazing, and our team on the software/service experience side, is rocking, so timing is good for me to get back to entrepreneurship,” Davidson told Geekwire on Friday, noting that today was his final day with the company. Davidson will reportedly work on another piece of software and is making his move in an effort to return to entrepreneurship.

Nike's decision to shutter the hardware side of FuelBand has prompted speculation the sports apparel company will have an even deeper partnership with Apple going forward. Speaking to CNBC, the company's CEO, Mark Parker, helped fuel those rumors even further by suggesting Nike is indeed going to collaborate with Apple on something exciting in the future.

Although Parker didn't implicitly say Nike and Apple are working on a project together, his comments can certainly be taken as a hint that something of significance is on the way.

Starting Monday you may not require a Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast or additional device just to stream Netflix at home. You will, however, still need a cable subscription. Netflix recently inked deals with three U.S. cable providers under which new cable boxes will ship with a pre-installed Netflix application. It's a somewhat bizarre move, considering cable companies have typically battled against streaming alternatives, which have pushed some U.S. consumers to cut cable TV subscriptions altogether. As the saying goes, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Foxconn recently sold communications technology related technology to Google, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. The number of patents sold and specific names of them were not provided by the news outlet, though Google has long been bolstering its patent portfolio in an effort to defend Android, help fight for partners who use the operating system.

Foxconn reportedly has been granted than 60,000 patents as it continues research and development on even more projects. While the firm is best known for manufacturing products designed by other firms, but also ranked in the top 20 owners of U.S. patents in 2013. The firm also recently teamed up with Google on a new robotics project, where Google will build robots and help Foxconn automate its assembly lines.

So what does Google need communications patents for?

It's possible Google will use them to help fight of Apple and patent trolls who accuse Google and some of its products, such as Android, as infringing on other patents. However, a recent report suggested that Google is also interested in offering its own wireless service in the United States, and perhaps the patents may be used to help it execute on those plans.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, The Wall Street Journal said.
