Ever notice how the nose flares during emotion?
That’s the Nasalis at work.

The nasalis muscle has two parts: the transverse part originates from the maxilla and inserts on the bridge of the nose, blending with its counterpart from the opposite side. Compressing the nose and widening the nostrils is the primary work and another is to wrinkle the nose and create facial expressions like anger.
