Cyrus S. Saiwalla represents a rare generation of Indian professionals who witnessed and contributed to India’s transition from the age of mechanical engineering and aviation to electronics, computers, and renewable energy awareness.
His foundation was built in the demanding world of aviation maintenance, where precision, safety, and accountability are not optional but essential. Working with aircraft and helicopter systems shaped his lifelong belief that every machine, every process, and every institution survives only through disciplined maintenance and responsible stewardship.
His association with the Defence services during his formative years created a deeper understanding of national duty. The experience of standing ready during the 1965–66 conflict period, participating in ceremonial duties connected with the nation’s highest offices, and serving aboard the legendary INS Vikrant remains a defining chapter of his life.
At Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited from 1974–1990, he moved into the heart of India’s industrial growth story — fabrication, production systems, machinery, planning, and cost engineering. This period transformed him from a technical practitioner into a complete systems thinker.
Later, as founder of HRN Electronics Services, he embraced India’s emerging electronics and computer revolution. His journey from mechanical engineering to electronics demonstrates adaptability — the ability to learn, evolve, and remain relevant through changing technology.

A Tribute to My Son – Nevil C. Saiwalla
Every successful journey is strengthened by someone who quietly stands beside us.
For me, that person has always been my dear son, Nevil C. Saiwalla, an M.Sc. (Computer Science) professional.
From his school days, he spent countless hours assisting me at
HRN Electronics Services. During the years when we assembled high-quality desktop computer systems, Nevil took responsibility for installing operating systems, device drivers and essential software, ensuring that every computer left our workshop fully tested and ready for service.
Even today, whenever I encounter a software-related challenge, Nevil is only a phone call away. His knowledge, patience and willingness to help have never diminished.
As a father, nothing gives me greater satisfaction than seeing my son combine professional excellence with humility and a spirit of service.
I am proud to say that HRN Electronics Services has always been a
father-and-son journey, built on trust, quality, dedication and mutual respect.

Conclusion
My professional career spans more than five decades of engineering excellence—from aircraft maintenance and manufacturing engineering to electronics, computer systems and technical writing.
The recognitions I received from respected organisations were earned through skill, perseverance, integrity and an unwavering commitment to quality.
It is my sincere hope that my experiences will inspire the younger generation of engineers and technicians to pursue excellence, uphold professional ethics and take pride in producing quality work.
