Your Face ID stopped working after a screen repair.
Sound familiar? 😕 This is one of the most common complaints we hear at Tools — and it’s almost always caused by the same thing: a non-genuine display replacement.
Here’s what actually happens:
🧠 Face ID relies on Apple’s TrueDepth camera system — a precise array of sensors bonded to the original genuine display. When a non-authorised repair shop replaces your screen with a third-party component, this bond is broken.
The result: Face ID stops working. Partially, inconsistently, or permanently. Other Face ID problems we see: → Fails in bright sunlight (ambient light sensor disrupted) → Inconsistent recognition (misaligned TrueDepth sensor) → “Move iPhone Higher/Lower” on every unlock → “Face ID is not available” after getting wet ✅
At Tools, we use 100% genuine Apple displays that maintain full TrueDepth compatibility.
Your Face ID works exactly as Apple designed it. If your Face ID is already broken from a previous repair — bring it to us. We’ll assess what’s recoverable.
