From a Statistics Textbook to an AI-Powered Learning Assistant!

What if your textbook could actually answer your questions, explain concepts, and guide your learning?

That’s exactly what Aparna Hari Nair, a student from the SPIT December 2026 batch, explored through her Generative AI project — a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based Gemini Chatbot designed around Statistics and Probability for Engineers.

🤖 What makes this project interesting?

Instead of relying only on general AI knowledge, the chatbot uses RAG to retrieve relevant information from the textbook and generate context-aware responses.

🔹 Based on the Statistics and Probability for Engineers book
🔹 Powered by Google Gemini
🔹 Uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
🔹 Designed as an AI learning companion
🔹 Session-based authentication
🔹 Multi-user ready architecture
🔹 Clean, modern and student-friendly interface

This is a great example of how Generative AI can move beyond chatbots and solve practical problems in education.

🎓 And the student behind it?

Projects like these show an important shift in AI education:

Don’t just learn AI. Build something useful with it.

💡 What would you build if you could turn any textbook into an AI-powered learning assistant?

What if your Telegram could recommend traditional recipes from AYUSH knowledge?

Our student Aparna Hari Nair has built exactly that — a Telegram-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) GenAI Chatbot that brings traditional food knowledge into an interactive AI experience.

🥗 What does the chatbot do?

The chatbot is designed to provide recipe recommendations based on Traditional Food Recipes from AYUSH Systems of Medicine, using a trusted source of traditional food knowledge.

🔹 Technology: Generative AI + RAG
🔹 Platform: Telegram
🔹 Knowledge Source: Traditional Food Recipes from AYUSH Systems of Medicine
🔹 Purpose: Make traditional recipe knowledge easier to discover through conversational AI
🔹 Live Bot:

📚 Source: Vikaspedia — Traditional Food Recipes from AYUSH Systems of Medicine

What makes this project exciting is the combination of traditional knowledge + modern AI.

Instead of simply asking an AI for a recipe, the RAG approach helps the chatbot retrieve information from a specific knowledge source and use that context to generate its response.

🎓 Student: Aparna Hari Nair
🏫 SPIT — Dec'26 Batch
💻 B.Sc. Computer Science — 2026
🏆 99.5 Percentile — MCA CET 2026

This is what practical GenAI learning looks like:

Learn the technology → Find a real problem → Connect AI with meaningful knowledge → Build something people can actually use.

💬 What traditional Indian knowledge would YOU turn into a GenAI chatbot?
