The good news:
The print industry (ink on paper) is galloping to USD 30 bn. And
the Indian packaging industry (in on everything else I guess, except textiles) is
expected to become the fourth largest packaging market in the world with a revenue of USD 43.7 bn in 2016. This year (2015) it will grow to USD 32.5 bn.
On 7 October, at the seventh edition of the PrintWeek India Awards, we celebrated the above numbers. Plus the excellence in print and packaging. Most of the 113 print firms, who submitted their Award entries, were present.
The Awards Night culminate with the chief guest, Kevin Flynn, president and managing director, FCA India, presenting the PrintWeek India Company of the Year Award to Manipal Technologies, as part of the grand finale.
During his short speech, Flynn, spoke about GMP and top manufacturing techniques. It was a great opportunity to learn how users should make of a brand. In this sense, it feeds in nicely into the launch of PrintWeek India Studio.
The PrintWeek Studio is a repertoire of all things print – posters, labels, packaging jobs, brochures, books, printed electronics and the other 20 categories. Top print works from across the country will find a place of honour, live and online. Our aim: Print companies and print buyers will be able to seek benefits with detailed listings and tech specs. Each sample entails tech details like run length, substrates used, and prepress and post-press operations.
