Celebrating Diwali 2013 with Zeal at 21CI

Hi Centurions
I want to write a few words about the decorations you created yesterday. I was amazed to find such detailed and thematic representations of all four regions. It is so heartening to realize how much capability for creativity, planning and ex*****on we have among our close group that we call 21st Century Informatics.
As a judge, Aniruddha and I could choose only one winner, but that does not do justice to the efforts that you have taken. Let me mention some notable features of each team:
- Lotus: everything they did, they did it to perfection. From food to Rangoli to Golu dolls, it was a treat to visit south india.
- Aster: this was the only team to connect Diwali celebrations to North India. Wonderful use of the stairs and the wall.
- Ambrosia: as we all know, they made a very innovative and creative use of prominent personalities and communities to portray the East. The ambience creation was awesome. The only team to weave 21st Century in the narrative.
- Orchid: The drawing of map to spread a message of unity was a very striking feature. Also distinctive was their creative use of the fish tank to link the sea and West.
The taste of the wonderful foods like nei appam, Roshagulla and Shankarpali that you offered is still lingering on my tongue. And I never saw all those kinds of clothes that you wore.
I would like to congratulate Zeal for finding such innovative opportunity for people to showcase their talent while working together. I have said it before and will say it again, the silent contribution of Zeal to the well being of our organization is enormous. We all respect them for their dedication and efforts.
It only increases my appetite for more of such events. Thank you all…
