Tailoring Class in slum area.
During a number of discussion on women empowerment it was discussed regarding the need of a sewing class in the slums of Mankhurd in Chembur. Location identified in the region was Sai Education Sanstha while trained and experienced teachers were also available. But the only bottle neck was the need of sewing machine and its accessories. Finally it was made possible with the donation of four new sewing machines by a NGO, Chandra Sundra Trust. Chandra Sundra Trust is 80G certified with certificate to conduct CSR activity, consisting of RCF employees functioning for more than a decade with a number of social work projects to its credit. Inauguration of machines and class was organized on 29th May 2023 at 5.00pm on the terrace of Sai Education Sanstha, Cheeta camp, Mankhurd. Your presence as a chief guest on the occasion was highly useful with your views shared. While the Guest of Honor was Shri. Prabhakar Kamble, President, Service Civil International, Maharashtra State group, India. Valuable views expressed by both of you were motivating and served as a guidance for all those present. Along with 25+ students and officers of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers, representatives of NGOs like; Sai Education Sanstha, Jeevan Dhara, Police Mitra Mandal and Group Dynamic Welfare Association also attended showing their support for the noble cause. Vote of thanks was given by Smt. Vaishali Kamble, Secretary of Sai Education Sanstha. During the discussions it was also suggested that about hundred children would be selected from the slum for further long term educational development under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme’ as a CSR project.
