Onyx Mobile was the exclusive worldwide licensee of the entire library of Yash Raj Films. Just recently Onyx Mobile has now become a 100% subsidiary of the Onyx Group. Onyx Mobile is headed by Rajan Patel, who has over 15 years experience in Marketing and Business Development. He was the Head of International and Marketing of BMG India until the year 2000. His team at BMG was responsible for the marketing of International acts such as Yanni, Peter Andre, Air Supply – and AQUA, which to date is the largest-selling International band in the History of the Indian music business. Onyx Mobile is one of the leading Content Developers and Distributors of Mobile Content in India. Onyx Mobile was an Exclusive Worldwide Licensee of Yash Raj Films since September 2003 and had successfully developed and distributed both Library Content and new Film Content over various Mobile Carriers and Operators. Onyx is one of the first Mobile companies to exploit the capabilities and strength of the Bollywood brand way back in 2003. In recent times, Onyx has successfully developed and deployed Mobile Content for super-hit films like Chak De India, Dhoom 2, Neal N Nikki, Bunty Aur Babli, Salaam Namaste, Hum Tum, Dhoom and Veer Zaara. Dhoom was the most downloaded Bollywood film of all times on Indian mobile phones across Bollywood. Further more, Onyx had developed content of Yash Raj Films by creating the largest Mobile Wallpaper library (over 700 high-quality wallpapers covering every Indian star across the last 3 decades) amongst other Content categories. Onyx Mobile has kept its focus on Quality Content development and distribution over renowned distribution networks. Our Content is served and is available on our Short Code 53366, WAP and Voice Platforms across all Operators in the country such as Reliance, TATA, Vodafone, Airtel, IDEA, LOOP Mobile, MTNL, BSNL and Aircel. Internationally we have also allied with most operators directly. In November 2004, Onyx created history and were the first to get Reliance Infocomm to send out a 2 minute pre-recorded voice call with Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta’s voice. Over 8.5 million subscribers received a call from the above stars who spoke about their "concept of true love". Users were asked to send in their “concept of true love” via SMS. This was a hugely successful mobile property which had mass participation via the SMS contest. The common man was literally amazed to have received a call from Shah Rukh! In the year 2009, Onyx ventured into the IVR Domain (Interactive Voice Response) and had achieved amongst many verticals the design and development of “Mobile Radio”. We provided both the front and back end for Oye Mobile Radio and Shemaroo Mobile Radio. Both Oye and Shemaroo are popular Brand names in the Indian Entertainment Arena.
