IARI has released a new Wheat Variety for NCR, namely HD CSW18. Recommended for early sowing (mid - october), it is highly resistant to brown rust. It is claimed to be first ever variety breed for conservation agriculture (CA).

HD-3086. Interested producers can contact IARI. A fee has been fixed as license fee.

Due to heavy rains in the main wheat seed producing belt of North India most of the quantity of seed got rain affected hence a major quantity of wheat seed procured is discolored and damaged. Therefore I foresee the shortage of good quality wheat seed.
Farmers of Punjab, Haryana, Rajsthan, Utter Predesh and Madhya Pradesh are advised to secure their quantity well in advance. It is just for information.
