International Women's Day Celebration at Pilikula! 💪✨
On March 8, 2026, Pilikula Regional Science Centre hosted a powerful event in collaboration with Pilikula Development Authority, District Legal Services Authority (D.K., Mangaluru), and Dharmajyothi Seva Sansthe, Vamanjoor.
Mrs. Zaibunnisa, Senior Civil Judge & Member Secretary, inaugurated the program and inspired everyone: “The days of women living in darkness are over. Today, women can enjoy their rights 365 days a year — including equal share in ancestral property. Success comes when we strive forward ourselves.” She urged everyone to use free legal services and women & child helplines.
Chief Guest Sri N.G. Mohan stressed that girls in our district know their rights and that educating all is our collective duty — only empowered women build a strong society.
Sr Veera Monis called for women’s empowerment to grow as a right, urging a life free from fear, filled with love, patience, and harmony to fulfill dreams.
Advocate Mrs. Manasa Hegde shared detailed insights on POCSO Act 2012, women-related laws, and mental health.
Dr. Ashok K.R., Director of the Science Centre, praised women’s alertness in family matters and their role in nurturing relationships with love and patience for a stronger society.
Women house keeping workers from Pilikula Development Authority were felicitated. The program featured warm welcomes, compering by Curator Jagannath, vote of thanks by Smt. Asha, and lively cultural activities.

National Science Day was vibrantly celebrated on February 28, 2026, at the Pilikula Regional Science Centre in collaboration with the Learning Links Foundation. Around 350 enthusiastic students and teachers from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts took part in this inspiring event.

The program kicked off with an inauguration led by Prof. G. Shrinikethan, Retired Dean of NITK Surathkal and Chairman of the Sub-Committee of the Pilikula Development Authority. In his address, he urged children to develop a questioning attitude and a strong research-oriented mindset. He highlighted the urgent need for intensified research in vital areas like energy, fuel, water, environment, climate, waste management, and recycling, emphasizing the discovery of long-term, sustainable solutions to current challenges so that future generations can reap the benefits.
Among the distinguished dignitaries present were Shri Srinivasa Adiga, Senior Lecturer at DIET Mangaluru; Shri Manjunath and Shri Shrikant, Chief Managers from the Learning Links Foundation; and Shri Lakshminarayana, Mathematics Subject Inspector from the DDPI Office, Mangalore. The event was presided over by Dr. Ashok K.R., Director of the Pilikula Regional Science Centre.

Renowned science communicator and writer Mrs. Nandita Jayaraj served as the resource person, delivering an insightful lecture centered on the National Science Day theme. She engaged students in lively and interactive discussions that sparked curiosity and deeper understanding.

The day featured exciting parallel competitions for school students, including a science model exhibition, a science quiz, and an adrawing competition. Teachers enjoyed exclusive hands-on science demonstrations.

The valedictory session was graced by Hon'ble Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Shri U.T. Khader, who addressed the gathering. He stressed that a life of self-respect and dignity is achievable only through quality education. He called on every student to commit to nurturing strong human values to strengthen the nation, pursue excellence in education, and aim for the highest positions in society.

The Hon'ble Speaker felicitated the winners of the various competitions with certificates and prizes. The program concluded on a high note as participating students and judges shared their positive impressions and heartfelt appreciation for the well-organized event.

🌙✨ Magical Night Under the Stars at Pilikula Regional Science Centre! ✨🌙

Tonight, we hosted an unforgettable Sky Observation Program on the campus! 🌌

Participants got to witness the beautiful crescent moon, Jupiter shining bright along with its fascinating moons, and several prominent stars through telescopes. 🔭

Students, enthusiastic parents, teachers, and amateur astronomers all came together to explore the wonders of the night sky. Visitors' doubts were clarified, sparking curiosity and excitement!

Around 100 eager participants joined us, and the energy was truly inspiring. Many young minds left motivated to start their own star-gazing journeys! 🚀❤️

Events like these remind us how beautiful science can be when shared with the community.

A one-day Robotics, 3D Printing, and IoT workshop was held at the Innovation Hub of the Pilikula Regional Science Centre for students of Nalanda English Medium School, Mangalore.

Students learned the basics of robotics, Arduino, 3D printing, sensors, and simple robot programming through hands-on activities. They also explored physics concepts and observed cell structures through microscope demonstrations.

As part of Karavali Utsav 2025-26, today's event featured an amazing drone exhibition and live demonstration!
