Nana Patekar — the end of a golden era. ❤️ legends stay in our hearts forever. Born Vishwanath Patekar on 1 January 1951 in Murud-Janjira, Maharashtra, Nana Patekar built a remarkable career spanning nearly five decades. From Gaman and Parinda to Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Ab Tak Chhappan, Raajneeti, Natsamrat and the unforgettable Uday Shetty in Welcome, his powerful acting, iconic dialogues and unique screen presence gave Indian cinema countless unforgettable moments. He won three National Film Awards and was honoured with the Padma Shri for his contribution to the arts.
He made us laugh, made us think, and gave us countless iconic moments that became part of our memories. ❤️ But today, the laughter feels a little quieter as we remember the artist behind those unforgettable characters. Nana Patekar passed away on 8 October 2026 at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa. The industry has lost a truly distinctive performer, but his voice, dialogues, characters and performances will continue to live on in the hearts of generations. Thank you for the memories, Nana Sir. 🥺❤️🙏
