A little warmth, the Kashmiri way 🍁

When the weather calls for comfort, reach for a warm cup of milk or kehwa, infused with a few strands of pure Kashmiri saffron. Sourced from the valleys of Kashmir, our saffron brings a delicate aroma, rich colour, and a touch of tradition to every cup.

In Kashmir, tea is not always just tea. Sometimes, it comes with a Samovar, a little patience, and a tradition that has been passed down for generations.

The Samovar is a familiar sight in Kashmir, found in homes, gatherings, and celebrations, where tea is slowly prepared and shared. In this video, we take a closer look at the traditional Samovar and how Kashmiri Noon Chai is made in it. From handling the hot Samovar to the brewing process, this is a small glimpse into a tradition that continues to be part of everyday Kashmiri life.

The Yak, the Mountains & a Piece of Cheese 🏔️🧀

Some of the best food experiences aren’t found in restaurants. While travelling through the high mountains of Ladakh, we came across a yak grazing quietly among the rocks and meadows. A little later, we came across a small restaurant selling Yak Cheese and Milk. ❤️

Yak cheese also known as Churpi, is a traditional dairy product made by pastoral communities in Ladakh. It has been part of their food traditions for generations, particularly in high-altitude regions like Changthang and Zanskar. The cheese was nothing like the regular cheese we’re used to. It was firm, slightly chewy and crumbly, with a distinct earthy and mildly salty taste.

In Ladakh, yaks are much more than animals grazing in the mountains.

For generations, they have been an essential part of life for high-altitude communities providing milk, meat, fibre and fuel, while also helping people transport goods across some of the toughest terrain in the Himalayas. In a landscape where resources are limited and winters can be harsh, the yak has been a remarkable companion to the people who call these mountains home.

Where borders meet, stories live. 🇮🇳❤️

Kaman Aman Setu, a symbol of peace, hope, and connection.

Tucked away in the mountains near Uri, just a short distance from the other side of the border, Kaman Aman Setu is more than just a bridge. It stands as a reminder that beyond borders, there are families, memories, and a shared history that connect people.

Same mountains. Same valley. Different sides of a border.

Small in Size. Big on Flavour & Goodness. Meet Kashmiri Garlic, also known as Himalayan Garlic or Snow Mountain Garlic a distinctive variety traditionally associated with the Himalayan valleys of Jammu and Kashmir.

Smaller and denser than regular garlic, it is known for its strong aroma and bold flavour. Naturally rich in allicin and other sulfur compounds, Kashmiri garlic has been traditionally valued for its potential antioxidant, heart-health, antimicrobial and digestive-supporting properties.

Most people only see the walnut in its shell. Very few get to see where its journey begins. This harvest season, we travelled to Kupwara, Kashmir, to document the journey of Kashmiri walnuts from young green walnuts growing on the trees to the harvest that eventually reaches homes across India.

For us at Kashmir Allure, sharing these stories is just as important as bringing authentic products to your doorstep. Every harvest reflects the people, heritage, and care behind it. This is the first of many stories we’ll be telling from across Kashmir, celebrating its farmers, artisans, culture, and the products that make the valley truly special.

From Nadur Monje (crispy lotus stem fritters), Aloo Monje (potato fritters), Tae Gaad (fried fish), Gogji Achar (turnip pickle), and many more, every bite tells a story of Kashmir’s rich culinary heritage.
