BOSS (Bharat Operating System Solutions)

Bharat Operating System Solutions GNU/Linux distribution developed by C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) derived from Debian for enhancing the use of Free/ Open Source Software throughout India. BOSSGNU/Linux - a key deliverable of NRCFOSS has upgraded from Entry level server to advanced server. It supports Intel and AMD x86/x86-64 architecture. BOSS GNU/Linux advanced server has unique features such as Web server, proxy server, Database server, Mail server, Network server, File and Print server, SMS server, LDAP server. BOSS GNU/Linux advanced server is comprised with administration tool such as webmin which is a web based interface, Gadmin, PHP myadmin, PHP LDAP admin, PG admin.

The Beta Release of BOSS GNU/Linux Version 4.0 is coupled with GNOME Desktop Environment with wide Indian language support & packages, relevant for use in the Government domain. This release aims more at the security part and comes with an easy to use application to harden your Desktop. Currently BOSS GNU/Linux Desktop is available in all the Official Indian Languages such as Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Bodo, Urdu, Kashmiri, Maithili, Konkani, Manipuri which will enable the mainly non-English literate users in the country to be exposed to ICT and to use the computer more effectively.

The accessibility of BOSS Linux will have a constructive impact on the digital divide in India as more people can now have access to software in their local language to use the Internet and other information and communications technology (ICT) facilities. Community Information centers (CIC’s) and internet cafes will also benefit from BOSS GNU/Linux as this software can be utilized to power these outlets and is affordable and easy to install, use and support.

The National Resource Centre for Free/Open Source Software (NRCFOSS) is an initiative of the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT), Government of India. NRCFOSS aims to contribute to the growth of FOSS in India through research and development, human resource development, networking and entrepreneurship development. It serves as the reference point for all FOSS related activities in the country.

നഷ്ടപെട്ട വസ്തുക്കള്‍ എങ്ങിനെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കാം??!!

ഇന്നെത്ത ജീവിതരീതികളും മാനസിക സംഘര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ മൂലവും നമ്മുടെ പല വിലപ്പെട്ട വസ്തുക്കള്‍ നിത്യ ജീവിതത്തില്‍ മറക്കാറുണ്ട്.അടുത്ത കാലത്തായി പലതും എന്റെതും മറന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്‌ . ചിലപ്പോള്‍ Passport , വാഹനത്തിന്റെ Key, School Certificate, Cash, കണ്ണട,Bag, Purse.......നീണ്ടു പോവുന്നു ഈ നിര. ചില നഷ്ടപെടല്‍ നമ്മുടെ മറവിയുടെ ആയിരിക്കും.മറ്റു ചിലവ നമ്മുടെ കയ്യില്‍ നിന്നും യഥാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ നഷ്ടപെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടാവും. ചില നഷ്ടപെടല്‍ നമുക്ക് വില മതിക്കാന്‍ പറ്റാത്തവയായിരിക്കും. ഒരു കാര്‍ കീ നഷ്ടപെട്ടാല്‍ ചിലപ്പോള്‍ നമ്മുക്ക്ഉണ്ടാവുന്ന പ്രയാസങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുപാട് ആകുന്നു. നമ്മളില്‍ പലരും ഈ പ്രയാസങ്ങള്‍ ഒരിക്കെലെങ്കിലും അനുഭവച്ചിരികും. നമുക്ക്ഒരു വസ്തു നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ എന്തൊക്കെ ചെയ്യാം ! എങ്ങിനെ അത് വീണ്ടെടുക്കാം. മറ്റൊരാളുടെ വസ്തു നമുക്ക് ലഭിച്ചാല്‍ എന്തൊക്കെ ചെയ്യാന്‍ സാധിക്കും എന്ന്നാണ് നമ്മള്‍ ഇവിടെ ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നത്.

1. ഒരു നിമിശം എല്ലാ ആലോചനകളും വെടിയുക. എന്നിട്ട് നന്നായി ശ്വാസം ഉള്ളിലേക്ക് വലിച്ചും പുറത്തു വിട്ടും. ഒരു 3 Minute ആവര്‍ത്തിക്കുക. (ഇത്തരം Breathing കുറച്ചു Mental Stress കുറക്കാന്‍ നിങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്കും). ചിന്തകള്‍ മനസ്സില്‍ നിന്ന് Clear ചെയ്തതിനു ശേഷം , എപ്പോയായിരുന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈവശം നഷ്ടപെട്ട സാധനം അവസാനമായി ഉണ്ടായിടുന്നു എന്ന് ആലോചിക്കുക. നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് നഷ്ടപെട്ട സാധനം തിരികെ ലഭിക്കുമെന്ന് മനസസ്സിനു സ്വയം ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുക.ഓര്‍മ്മകള്‍ കുറച്ചു സമയം ആ വസ്തുവിന് പിറകെ മാത്രം സഞ്ജരിപ്പിക്കുക.

3.അവസാനമായി വസ്തു കണ്ട സ്ഥലത്ത് ആളോട് കാര്യം ഉണര്‍ത്തുക. നഷ്ടപെട്ട സ്ഥലത്തിന് ചുറ്റുമുള്ള Office, Business , Home എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള സ്ഥപങ്ങളിലും അറിയുക്കക. തിരികെ ലഭിച്ചാല്‍ ബന്ധപ്പെടാനുള്ള Contact Number കൊടുക്കുക.

4. അടുത്തുള്ള പോലീസ്‌ സ്റ്റേഷനില്‍ അറിയിക്കുക.

5. Online ration card correction: Date extended till Sept 20:
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has extended the last date to verify online the details entered for renewal of ration cards to September 20.

Those who fail to access the details online, can approach the Civil Supplies Departments in their respective districts after September 7 to verify the details manually, said Ajithkumar Sumanam, senior superintendent of Consumer Affairs Cell in Civil Supplies Department.

Earlier, the government had set the last date for Consumers to correct the mistakes, if there are any, until August 28 by logging in to the website. One may follow the steps given below to correct the details.
