Business Analyst – Retail & Supply Chain
Experience: 3–5 Years
Location: Kolkata
Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and analytical Business Analyst to work at the intersection of
business, data, and technology in a retail/supply chain environment.
This is a high-ownership role where you will translate business processes into structured
requirements, support validation and testing, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure system
outputs align with real-world operations. You will also be expected to build domain depth and
gradually take ownership of functional understanding.
Key Responsibilities
• Understand and document retail/supply chain processes such as inventory management,
distribution, and transfers
• Translate business workflows into clear, structured functional requirements and user stories
• Define acceptance criteria and support QA teams with business-driven test scenarios
• Work with data and engineering teams to understand system behaviour, data flows, and
dependencies
• Assist in identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and edge cases in requirements and outputs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and follow through on ex*****on
• Maintain documentation including process flows, business rules, and requirement artifacts
• Support analytics and reporting by helping define business-relevant metrics and validating
outputs
Required Skills & Experience
• Basic understanding of retail or supply chain operations (inventory, planning, or distribution)
• Experience working in an IT organization (services or product environment)
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Comfort working with data, reports, and validation scenarios
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
• High ownership mindset and willingness to learn and grow into a domain expert
Good to Have
• Exposure to planning tools (e.g., Anaplan or similar)
• Familiarity with data pipelines / ETL systems (e.g., Airflow, data warehouses, ODS)
• Experience working with QA teams or supporting testing activities
• Exposure to BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
