For a new small product brand with budget constraints, what’s the first step in advertising?

🔑 My Answer (Summary):
Most small brands start ads with low budgets — and that’s completely fine. The key is consistency over time, not one-week experiments. Finding a hero product or hero ad takes 3–4 months of steady data, not just one campaign. Once you identify what’s working, scale gradually — not too fast to burn cash, and not too slow to lose momentum.
Step ⿡: Strong Assets → Get professional product photography
Step ⿢: Build Trust → Collect initial reviews (friends/family, early buyers)
Step ⿣: Ads → Start small-budget ads consistently
Step ⿤: Breakeven First → Don’t chase profit in the first 3–6 months; focus on hitting breakeven and let word-of-mouth + ads grow sales

Many brands fail early because they expect instant profits. But if you create the right visual assets, gather social proof, and run consistent ads, you’ll build the foundation for scalable, profitable growth.
