Started very humbly in 2009, out of pure frustration, like many of those out there! Nine years did a lot to Litmus7 and made us what we are today! When I look back, one of the most important things that have made us what we are today is probably our confidence and courage. We never bent over backwards or bowed down to any odds, and we were prepared enough to deliver what we wanted to offer to the world. On second thoughts, it can be even read as our “EGO” at work!
Retail Industry is growing roughly at 4% YOY. Many of the IT companies centered on retail are panning out at 12% or less, while Litmus7 is growing at 30% and above since its inception which in itself says we’re doing something right.
1. It never made its clients unhappy so far in the journey (Zero escalations in the last 9 years on what we committed to deliver; yes, unbelievable as it may sound, it’s the truth)
2. Tried its best to respect and love its people. Instead of designing the company around EBITDA we designed it around our people and the core culture it protects.
3. Always kept its promise to disrupt itself and the industry for the betterment of the retail world and its consumers. We think we have found what would revolutionize the future of retail and we know that every person out there will experience what we are going to design for the people/consumers around us.
All this is possible because of the culture that we believe in.
We established a FLUID culture, a culture that makes our people fearless Leaders, who are unbiased, innovative and determined. Also, our people form clubs and they elect their presidents along with office bearers every year, so that they manage themselves, rather than have a specific HR professional doing it. Actually, people join clubs rather than joining Litmus7. Every club can be visualized as an autonomous, miniature Litmus7. Each member in the club has the power to protect and grow the company and the members collectively have the power to even displace their CEO. It is that awesomely powerful.
Deliberately disruptive!
a) Future of us. ‘the people’
When it comes to disrupting, we are already in the process of changing the future of workforce, even though we don’t like the word “workforce” which is used here only for the ease of understanding! We created the Litmus7 Tribe, an awesomely weird bunch who has their left and right brain in the right ratio. We are aspiring to visualize the future and at the same time design it so much so that the rest of the world can flaunt it.
b) Designing a road to the most idealistic future!
We have identified 7 hurdles for us to solve! When we crack it, you as a consumer has to merely wish for a product and you will have it delivered (if it is available according to your terms of wish) at your door step. That’s RetailSingularity for us.
The 7 hurdles as we see it are:
1. Frictionless retail (do better than its current state, incremental advancement)
2. Consumers’ digital maturity (transactional consumers become 3 dimensionally intelligent and that intelligent consumer learns on its own )
3. Age of consumers’ total empowerment (consumers own their data; at this stage consumers will go business-agnostic)
4. Democratizing the digital world (in this age of retail, every business should have the same rights to access basic consumer intents; at this point the world will possibly witness a One System model evolving)
5. Business as a service (businesses will start to consolidate at a “purpose” level, which is more powerful and democratic than an equity-based consolidation. At this point many businesses will start accessing other businesses as a service)
6. Sustainability drives critical decisions (in this age, consumer becomes more aware of the importance of sustainability, the sustainability quotient becomes one of the prime decision-making aspects of a consumer).
7. Technology going invisible (even though technology is integral to our lives today, it is still in the form of a device external to us; but the future will see technology going invisible and integral to us. AR/VR/AI and Quantum Computing are pointers in this direction)
We dream and aspire to design a world which will help people live a better life and feel safe - a world which protects good intentions!
