Data Collection Participants Needed!!!

Seeking ISL Contributors for AI Project on Sign Translation

We at Inavan India Technologies Pvt. Ltd, based in Kochi, are working on a project to make communication accessible for the deaf and hard of hearing using Indian Sign Language (ISL). We're focusing on the banking sector, translating spoken English to ISL and vice versa. We need your help to make this possible and you will be rewarded for your contribution as well. We are looking for 7 deaf individuals – 5 for data collection and 2 for testing & evaluation – to assist us in translating banking sector conversations into sign language. We need sign videos with some pre-defined sentences related to banking.

In addition, we also need sign videos for alphabets, digits, and some common phrases like days of the week, months, and greetings.

Based on the evaluation on the data collection process, we will select the video of one of the contributors for model training. With written consent from this contributor, the face and expressions will be depicted in the generated videos from the AI application.

All videos will be recorded at our office in Kalamassery, Kochi. We will provide a consistent environment with good lighting and a plain background.

The estimated time for data collection process is 3 hours per contributor. In addition, one more hour of service may be required from two contributors during model testing and validation.

We request you to wear simple, single-coloured clothing without patterns, preferably black, and ensure that your face and upper body are clearly visible in all videos.

Your participation will help us create a tool that bridges communication gaps and promotes inclusivity in the banking sector. If you are interested in participating, please apply through the above mentioned Google Form.
