A man had been recharging his Airtel number with the ₹1,099 plan every 84 days.
Out of curiosity, he calculated how much he would spend if he continued using the same plan for an entire year. The total came to around ₹4,775.
At the same time, news reports suggested that mobile recharge prices could increase in the coming months.
That made him wonder:
"Would it be smarter to recharge for the whole year now and avoid a future price hike?"
He started comparing Airtel's annual plans.
₹4,099 – Valid for 365 days
₹3,999 – Annual validity
₹3,599 – Annual validity
To compare them fairly, he calculated the daily cost of each plan.
₹4,099 plan: about ₹11.23 per day
₹3,999 plan: about ₹10.95 per day
₹3,599 plan: about ₹9.86 per day
Now the real question was:
"If I only need unlimited calling and mobile data, without OTT subscriptions or other extra benefits, which plan offers the best value?"
He also considered that if recharge prices really do increase in the next few months, locking in a one-year plan today could save money over time.
Still, he didn't recharge immediately.
Instead, he began checking different apps, payment platforms, and offers to see whether any additional discounts or cashback were available before making a decision.
In the end, he realized something important:
Choosing a mobile recharge plan isn't just about picking the cheapest option. It's about finding the plan that matches your usage. Factors such as daily data requirements, calling needs, validity, and overall value matter just as much as the price.
A plan that is perfect for one person may not be the best choice for someone else.
What about you?
If you only need calling and data, would you prefer to recharge for the entire year at once to lock in today's price, or would you rather stick with smaller recharges for more flexibility?
