This article's title may be slightly misleading in a way. While it is okay to say "I don't know" and be self aware of what you do not know, it is equally important to have it in you to want and try to know and eventually know. Simply an "I don't know" will make you sound as if you are not bothered and that you are least interested to know. That attitude will surely not impress the interviewer. The one to make an impression would be the one who is not only able to admit to not knowing, but at the same time, convince the interviewer that he'd do whatever it takes to find out the answers/solution.
