The Digital India programme is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. “Faceless, Paperless, Cashless” is one of professed role of Digital India.

Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has launched a new scheme entitled “Digital Finance for Rural India: Creating Awareness and Access through Common Service Centres (CSCs)” under Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA) with objectives to enable the CSCs to become Digital Financial Hubs, by hosting awareness sessions on government policies and digital finance options available for rural citizens as well as enabling various mechanism of digital financial services such as IMPS, UPI, Bank PoS machines etc. with an outlay of ₹ 65.625 crore.
2 lakhs Common Service Centres (CSCs) to provide capacity building, awareness access for digital payments methods to around1 crore rural citizensand 25 lakhs merchants across India. Each CSC would reach out to 40 households in the catchment area, covering one person from each household. Apart from rural citizens, each CSC would also target 10 Merchants per Panchayat to facilitate them in getting POS machines or digital payment mechanism.

However, Indian software product start-ups are experiencing talent crunch at the entry level. Retaining talent beyond one cycle of product development has become quiet challenging for organisations. This is a growing concern for the industry as growth of the sector is directly proportional to the availability of the right talent.
When companies hire freshers for their product development opportunities, they look for a few things. First and foremost is a candidate's logical and conceptual clarity. Second, they would look at how a concept can be applied in a real-life scenario to solve issues. All the rest comes after this. There are some candidates who have a natural flair for product development, while others have to work hard to attain these skills.
The scope of software and application development is not limited to just writing and compiling code. The complete lifecycle can involve many phases, whether it is developing for the desktop or for mobile devices. Typically a cycle starts with modelling and designing and continues all the way through testing, quality control, and product launch.
It takes some understanding to differentiate between a career in IT and a career in software product engineering. While it is good to see student's chase software product engineering as a preferred career option, many still land here because of some destiny. Either ways, once they start their career in product engineering, they know they are in for a long and an interesting haul.

WASHINGTON DC: Amazon has launched Amazon's 'all-you-can-read' subscription service, Kindle Unlimited, in India.

According to TechCrunch, the price of a one-month plan for the service is Rs 99, but it will increase to Rs 199 at the end of that month. Amazon was one of the first companies to launch an e-reader in India when it made the Kindle available there in 2012.

In terms of content, the Kindle Unlimited plan is up against FLIPKART, which operates India's largest e-book platform.

This is the first Asia launch for Kindle Unlimited, which is currently also available in the US, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and Canada.
