"How am I getting through this? I try not to ask "why me!" When you brood, you are inviting anxiety/stress into your life. Instead, having the attitude to accept and say - "try me" solves half your problem. I apply this simple algorithm of turning inward and asking myself if I can do anything to change the current situation. If yes, act on it; if not, surrender to it. Surrendering is usually considered weak or giving up, while in reality, it is simply accepting a situation. It requires a lot of courage to accept who we are and what we are facing. When we come to terms with all of life's imperfections, we transcend our ego and start to think clearly. There is nothing I can do about this lockdown, the entire world is going through this. But, we can stay home, learn new skills, meditate, exercise, spend time with family & self and also do things that are not so important. Apart from work, I'm also trying to write, learn classical music online, practice advanced yoga postures, read more, etc. I welcome each day and try to take it as it comes. As of today, I am starting a new blog called "Yoga, off the mat". The thing is people think Yoga is always on the mat - you twist your body, you stand upside down, do some movements, etc.. It's much more than that right? Even before we get to the part where you perform an asana on a mat, we have to practice something called social discipline and self-discipline. Take "non-violence" for example, it's not only for the outside world, but it applies to yourself also. Not just at a mental level, also at a physical level. You must know your body's and mind's limits and respect that. Learn to be kind to yourself. Another example is non-stealing. We often overlook the fact that even stealing someone's time and energy is a form of theft. It's not just material things. These are some things I would like to write about. This blog is all about showcasing how yoga is a practice for everyday life and not just on the mat! It is a great time to reflect and create something that matters. Don't you think?"

"Who am I? I am still finding to get the answer, this may sound very different but true. Well, I have been very fortunate in terms of my managers, my work profile and work culture all through my career. When Pramati happened, I wasn't sure if taking this up will be the right move as I wanted to move out from Hyderabad but as it's said, whatever happens, happens for a reason. I personally believe in this. Today I am exactly there where I am meant to be. It's been more than a year now since I joined Pramati & it feels just right. I look for an open culture where I can be myself, to be given free hand to explore, learn & grow. When it comes to self, I can be extremely silent, just keep to myself, or I can be extremely outgoing. Lately, I have taken an interest in spirituality and I find this exploration very peaceful. So much that, even when in a crowd, I am able to find solitude. There is so much to know...its an Ocean. I have learned, one should take time to sit back and analyze things to work on self for good... Every day you are a little better than yesterday. Practice isolation for a moment every day & do self-analysis...it helps! We get to meet so many people every day...so many different thought processes and personalities - the beauty is in these differences. Accept the differences & love them for who they are. We need to only work on ourselves. Even at work, you gotta let people be. The only thing you can control is yourself and your thoughts. At times I too lose my cool but I fall back. At the end of the day, it's all about acceptance & to me, this is the way to make peace with self. If you are alone, enjoy that solitude..why complain? Everything around us is temporary. Live in the moment & be happy. There's a beautiful phrase which says, we are what our thought has made us. So take care of what you think, words are secondary -Thoughts travel farther than your words!"

"I am completing 13 years here in another four months. I joined in 2007, as a senior system admin, and the one thing that hasn't changed a bit about being here is the opportunity to learn. So much scope to learn, and you are not restricted to one particular domain in Pramati. Even for a fresher, or anyone else, that holds true. When I joined, we were 175, now we are 1500 +. Over the year, I have had so many learnings. When you are in the IT team, you need to understand priorities. Sometimes, there are miscommunications and issues, but we consider every user an internal client and every feedback is important for us. That's how we approach work. I have learned countless new technologies, made many friends and we have always worked together to figure things out. That is a very good feeling, and that's why I am still here."

"I live in Chicago where half the year, it is really cold, and the other half is when you can get out and make the most of the warmth. I love riding motorcycles. A bunch of us Indian friends started our own Motorcycle club, and we like to go on long rides during the summer. Fortunately or unfortunately, when you are in a car, you don't really notice things and their details. It allows you to be distracted - you can be thinking, speaking on the phone, etc.. But when you are riding at 70 miles/hour, all you are trying to do is stay alive. It is just you and the road. You tend to shut your brain down, especially when you are an overactive thinker like I am. It actually helps calm me down. I am just a month old in this company, and sometimes you cannot put into words what the culture is about. It is only a vibe. When you go around the offices you can feel it. I think this is a seminal moment for a company like Pramati. Once a company hits where we are now, we basically put ourselves on a springboard to becoming bigger, and it will be exciting to contribute to that growth. Once in a while you get lucky in your career - You end up being at the right place at the right time, and I am hoping this is it."

"After my daughter was born, I used to listen to a lot of design podcasts, and feel inspired, and I always wondered why isn't there something more relevant to the Indian context. One day, a friend visited me, and I was telling her my thoughts on how I feel nothing was happening in that space, and she was like "why don't WE do it?" And just like that, we started our design podcast - "Design Lota". It might seem weird because post-pregnancy is usually the time when you don't take up extra work or start something new, but for me, it was actually the other way around. I had to take stock of all the time I had, and every moment mattered. I feel like I started valuing my time, and focused more on the present just because I know I won't get that time later. Even things like illustration and design, which I used to do for leisure, became necessary things I had to do to feel like myself. I needed to know who I am. The way your body changes, the way your responsibilities change, your time is taken up, it makes you think -"what's really mine?". You start looking for who you are, what you were before all this happened? It also completely changes the way you think, the way you answer questions, the way you tell a story. I learn so much from kid's books - how they make things interesting, the color schemes. I have always been interested in creating content for children, and now I have a front-row seat to their world. Everything is a bit real now. A lot of children's content is what we think they like, and not led by how they think. I knew this in theory, but now I really get it. I want to do something related to education, I am still figuring out what it means. I am sure it will be worthwhile as long it creates an impact and holds some meaning for me."
