Today we're pleased to welcome Cynthia Eichelman as Client Partner, USA - Scientific Informatics.

Life sciences organizations are under real pressure to turn AI ambition into working capability: on time, within budget, and with a return they can put in front of leadership.

Getting there depends less on the model than on what sits beneath it: curated, trusted data; the right platform choice; and scientists who actually adopt what gets built. That's the work our Scientific Informatics practice does, across Advisory, Digital and AI Services, Delivery, and Embedded Expertise.

Cynthia brings deep roots in laboratory informatics from both the platform side and the consulting side, a rare combination, and exactly what clients need when a program has to move from strategy to something that actually runs. Her appointment strengthens our client leadership in the US and reflects our continued investment in the region.

Welcome, Cynthia.

Patent literature is rich in antibody data, but extracting structured intelligence from complex patents at scale remains a challenge.

GOSTAR™ Large Molecules addresses this with a new AI-assisted antibody patent curation dataset, combining LLM-assisted extraction with expert scientific validation to bring structure and scale to antibody intelligence.

The dataset includes 4,116 antibody records across 425 patents and 288 protein targets, supporting antibody discovery, competitive intelligence, and AI/ML applications.

How do you turn diverse drug discovery data into confident decisions? As drug discovery becomes increasingly data-rich, connecting biological, molecular, and clinical evidence can help turn complex data into more actionable insights. This webinar will explore four critical questions:

→ Which targets matter most?
→ Can an existing drug be repurposed?
→ What new indications could be pursued?
→ Which patients are most likely to respond?

Discover how a mechanism-driven, data-integrated approach can support smarter, more informed decisions across the drug discovery journey.

How can RNA-Seq data reveal the splicing signatures driving disease?

In this case study, Excelra built an end-to-end RNA-Seq splicing analysis pipeline using rMATS, CASI scoring, and literature-based validation to identify disease-associated splicing events and prioritize known, emerging, and novel spliceopathy candidates.

This approach enabled Excelra to decode disease-associated splicing signatures, expand the spliceopathy gene panel with evidence-backed candidates, and establish a scalable framework for downstream biomarker discovery and validation.

Can 7 different test names really represent the same analytical test?

When inconsistent naming across 500K+ LIMS records makes analytical data difficult to identify, query, and trace, standardization becomes essential. Excelra harmonized seven naming variants into a single standardized test definition and applied structured taxonomy mapping to create consistent, traceable data.

A 3-day PoC demonstrated a scalable approach to harmonizing CMC analytical test records at scale. Read the full case study: https://na2.hubs.ly/H07mDdz0

Can machine learning accelerate the search for potential insecticidal proteins?

Identifying promising proteins from public datasets requires more than prediction, it takes curated data, biological insights, and computational validation. In this case study, Excelra combined ML-based prediction, protein annotation, and sequence & structure homology analysis to prioritize high-confidence candidates.

The result? 90%+ classification accuracy, over 70% reduction in screening time, and a protein ranked in the top 5% of predicted candidates.

Turning unstructured scientific information into trusted, usable data is where AI can make a real difference.

At Excelra, Sateesh G, Principal Architect - Scientific Informatics, builds AI-powered platforms using LLMs, multi-agent systems, and human expertise to transform complex scientific documents into curation-ready data. His work accelerates and scales curation through confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop review, and reusable AI pipelines.

For Sateesh, the real value of AI lies in what it gives back to science, less time spent on manual curation and more time for discovery.

Meet the Minds Behind AI spotlights the people at Excelra who are shaping human-led AI to address real-world challenges across life sciences.
