The Gunda Guide to Branding…explained in 3 easy steps.

1. What is a Brand? 🤔

A brand isn’t what you think about yourself. It’s what others think about you.

At my sessions, I often call two friends from the audience. Then I ask them:

• “Who’s the better party planner?”
• “Who loses their temper quickly?”
• “Who’s more confident with girls?”

Each friend votes for the other. And just like that, their reputation is revealed.

👉 That’s a brand. What people say, whisper, and believe about you (or your business) - whether you like it or not.

2. What is Branding? 🕶️

Now, suppose I want people to think I’m a rowdy gunda. I can start engineering that image.
• I wrap a scarf around my head.
• I speak loudly.
• I throw in some bully-like swagger.

Suddenly, people perceive me as rowdy.

This conscious effort to shape how others see me?

That’s branding.

It’s the act of managing your image and nudging people’s perception in the direction you want.

3. What is Brand Identity Design?

But wait - how do people actually pick up on these signals? Through the visible and tangible stuff.

• The scarf I wear.
• The way I stand.
• The tone in my voice.

These are design choices. They’re not random; they’re crafted to say: “I am the rowdy guy.”

In business, this translates to:
• Your logo.
• Your color palette.
• Your packaging.
• Your copywriting and tone
• Even the font you pick.

👉 All of these are part of brand identity design -the toolkit that helps people see and feel your brand the way you intended.

• Brand = What others already think of you.
• Branding = The conscious act of shaping that perception.

• Brand Identity Design = The visuals and signals that make people actually believe the perception.

That’s it. Simple. Three steps.

Here is the plan:

1. Onboard with us in November 2024 for a specialised internship programme (full time) where you will get to work on some dope projects. It will be paid internship till January 2025.

2. If you qualify our performance matrix, get a full time appointment in our studio on 1st February 2025

Qualifications needed:

1. Killer skills on adobe platforms like illustrator, photoshop etc

2. Loves movies. Can watch their fav ones repeatedly

3. Loves typography and indigenous cultures

4. Believes in making people fall in love not forcing

5. Self-taught and open minded

6. Believes creativity is a process and discipline
