Freshers with digital technology skills to get higher salary:

In a bid to increase its presence in the digital space, Wipro, India's third-largest outsourcer has restructured its entry-level job offers with higher salary packages to attract people with digital technology skills. According to a report in The Economic Times, Wipro has segregated its job profiles for freshers into three major categories with packages of Rs 3.5 lakh, Rs 6- Rs 6.5 lakh at the mid-tier and up to Rs 20 lakh for graduates from premier technical universities.

According to the ET report, companies such as Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant have put in significant money to upskill their employees as they see faster growth in digital technology-enabled projects. Analysts said even if it impacts their profitability initially, upskilling is essential for such a knowledge-based services industry.
