There is the Kunal who can walk into a room and make a complex conversation feel remarkably simple and the Kunal, who can make a simple conversation wonderfully complicated, because โbut what ifโฆโ is rarely far away.
He is composed, yet carries a certain volume.
He is serious about the work, never too serious for a good laugh.
He is difficult to persuade, but remarkably easy to talk to.
He has opinions. Plenty of them. Enough to make people listen, but he also has the generosity to hear another one and curiosity to challenge it.
Give him a problem, he listens and looks for the possibility inside it.
Give him an idea, he challenges and there is a good chance he is already three steps ahead of it.
Give him a no, he debates and you may simply have started a conversation.
His mind seems to live slightly ahead of the present, somewhere between AI, technology, new experiments and the perpetual question:
What next?
And somewhere between the meetings, the debates and the experiments is another version of him entirely: ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐ ๐จ๐๐ฌ ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐.
The founder disappears, the family man remains.
Perhaps that is the most curious thing about him.
For someone so relentlessly drawn towards what lies ahead, he remains deeply anchored in what matters.
So perhaps there really isn't one Kunal.
There is an array of contradictions: calm and loud, certain and curious, relentless and warm, rather an interesting collection of opposites, somehow all moving in the same direction.
Perhaps that is why, after all these years, describing him still feels slightly inadequate.
Happy Birthday, Kunal.
