Marissa Mayer, VP, Google:
Marissa was quoted saying “My friend Andre said to me, ‘you know, Marissa, you’re putting a lot of pressure on yourself to pick the right choice, and I’ve gotta be honest: That’s not what I see here. I see a bunch of good choices, and there’s the one that you pick and make great. I think that’s one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever gotten.”

Marissa Ann Mayer Vice President of Location and Local Services of Google. She is graduate form Wausau West High School in 1993 and she is one of the delegates from Wisconsin selected by the Governor of that state to attend the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia. Mayer has notable public involvement with Google Search and Gmail, and can be considered significantly responsible for the success of these UIs.

Born in Jhansi, a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India,[2] Amit received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in computer science from IIT Roorkee in 1989.[3] He continued his computer science education in the United States, and received an M.S. degree from University of Minnesota Duluth in 1991.[4] He writes about UMD:

His father, Carl Page, earned a Ph.D. in computer science in 1965 when the field was in its infancy, and is considered a "pioneer in computer science and artificial intelligence." Both he and Page's mother were computer science professors at Michigan State University.

Sergey Brin is Jewish, and was born in Moscow to Jewish parents the son of Michael Brin and Eugenia Brin, both graduates of Moscow State University. His father is a mathematics professor at the University of Maryland, and his mother is a research scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.

Dennis MacAlistair Ritchie was an American computer scientist who "helped shape the digital era. He created the C programming language and, with long-time colleague, Ken Thompson, the UNIX operating system.

Ritchie and Thompson received the Turing Award from the ACM in 1983, the Hamming Medal from the IEEE in 1990 and the National Medal of Technology from President Clinton in 1999. Ritchie was the head of Lucent Technologies System Software Research Department when he retired in 2007. The 'R' of the K&R C book stands for his name.
