Cost #6: the markups you can’t even see.

By the time a ₹10 product reaches your cart, it’s passed through 4–5 hands — distributor, wholesaler, reseller, marketplace, agency — each taking a cut. Then it’s priced high on purpose so ₹300 ‘feels’ reasonable.

I’m removing every hand between the source and you. One source. One seller. One honest price.

Cost #5 is the real villain: ads.

Brands spend 30–40% of the price acquiring you through Meta and Google ads — and you, the customer, fund the ad that sold you the product. I’ve spent lakhs on those ads myself.

For this brand: ₹0 on ads. The only thing that replaces an ad budget is you. If you think a ₹10 product should cost ₹10 — share this, and send it to one person. That’s the entire growth strategy. 👇

Cost #4: “Free shipping” is the most expensive thing on the internet.

There’s no such thing. It’s baked into the price — and almost always padded above the real courier cost. A ₹60 delivery quietly becomes ₹120 inside your total, and you’re told it’s “free.”

I’ll charge you the exact courier cost. Whatever the courier charges me, that’s what you pay. Nothing on top. That too, because you will ultimately go to the market to buy that product. You will spend money on travel, and you will spend your time going to the market. Using my experience in D2C for the last 10 years, I have the best courier pricings from multiple aggregators. We will see how we can use those contacts to benefit this project.

And here’s the honest part nobody says out loud: you’d spend more than that just travelling to buy it in person.

Transparency over theatre. Again.
Cost #4, gone.

Cost #3: the box that costs more than what’s inside it.

₹40 of packaging theatre — rigid box, tissue, sticker, thank-you card — wrapped around a ₹10 product. It feels premium, and that feeling is on your bill.

Mine: protective, honest, minimal. A good product doesn’t need a costume.

Cost #2: the ₹1,000 photo of a ₹10 product.

Studio, model, retouching — all to make a ₹10 item look like ₹300. That’s not a product cost. It’s a perception cost. You’re paying for the photo, not the thing.

My photography budget: ₹0. Phone, daylight, honesty. Save this.

The first thing that turns ₹10 into ₹300 isn’t even the product.
It’s the store.

Most sellers pay ₹1,000–2,000 every month for a store platform — before they’ve sold a single item. Then a fee on every order on top.

It’s the default. It’s also optional.

I’m not paying it. I’m building my store myself, with AI, and deploying it for almost nothing. And I’ll show you the no-code version too — so you can do it without writing a single line of code.

Cost #1, gone. A slice of that markup, gone with it.
Eight to go.

“You can’t sell a ₹10 product online for ₹10.” That’s exactly why I’m doing it.

The whole business — store, payments, photos, packaging, delivery — built around a ₹10 product, priced at ₹10. The only way that works is to strip out every cost the industry calls “mandatory.”

Next 9 days, I break down each one. Save this so you don’t lose it.

A ₹10 product sells online for ₹300. Same product. Nobody questions it.

So I’m building a brand from scratch — with AI and almost no money — and selling that ₹10 street product online for ₹10. In public. Every rupee on screen.

This is Day 1. Save it, and follow the journey. 👇
