In such a scenario, I get one question from multiple sources: is this the to in a product , or new product ?

While many experts might against spending during these tough times, I opine otherwise. Just think: the pandemic is going to be over at some time, and then, businesses that have invested in new product development or upgrades will stay ahead of the competition.

Covid-19 has changed the market landscape, and systems that were earlier unviable can bring greater returns now. So, a new product can .

There are many industry peers who often ask me if it's possible to digitize old machinery. There are those who think that legacy machinery must be entirely replaced by modern automatic units.

Interestingly, that's not always required. Take the case of my grandfather's old textile unit set up in 1982. Back then, the unit consisted of weaving machines that were entirely manual.

Now, to get the entire setup replaced by digital systems would require a huge investment. So, we did a quick workaround and integrated the old manual systems with a few and a .

Now, all those machines are . And we got this done at a fraction of the cost it would take to buy entirely new machines. In a way, we've added a touch of smartness into our old machines!

So, would you like to do the same with your legacy systems? Bits & Board Technologies can help you with that task. Just comment to know more!

5G Is Almost Here. What Next?

While we enjoy the speed of 4G, an even faster and better development in the form of 5G is already here to rule the web.

The 5th generation of the mobile network is all set to speed up the internet and our life in general. 5G will connect everyone with everything virtually, being especially ideal for smart homes and offices.

Having 5G is not just about fast downloads and buffer-free streaming of videos; it’s going to run houses, cars, robots, virtual reality, and overall quality of life.

As with every technology - once it’s out in the market, work on its development starts right away - 5G is also in the market now, and scientists and industrialists are already looking forward to 6G technology.

Although we can’t already say what 6G would look like, we can guess it will change our lives quite literally. What are your thoughts and aspirations from it? Let us know in the comment section.

CPU Vs. GPU - Which Will Stand The Test Of Time?

GPUs have broken out of their limited roles and are currently driving the leading research and development in the field of AI, ML, and modern supercomputing.

From recognizing complex digital encryptions to research on Neural Networking, GPUs have found themselves at the forefront of modern computational powers and technological integration.

Some exciting avenues in which GPUs has proven to be a groundbreaking technology are:
and

Comparing a CPU to a GPU is like comparing a boat to a plane.
GPUs (follows parallel processing) have an advantage over CPU (follows serial processing) when it comes to running complex programs. But a CPU has its own uses.

GPUs can give more output per unit of energy and enhance our capabilities in terms of graphics and computing horsepower.
Though CPUs are limited in the number of simultaneous operations, a combination of CPU and GPU works best for achieving Optimal RAM management in devices.

Are CPUs slowly becoming obsolete? Or will they continue to be an integral component of digital devices in the future?

How Automation Is Changing Society At Large?

Automation-driven technological innovations are at the center of all new developments.

From self-driving cars to remote-controlled appliances, drones to robotic arms, automation is taking root everywhere. Coupled with , , and advanced , this technology has the potential to change our lives in a big way.

Here are some interesting ways in which automation and technology is changing society already-

Automation makes the world safer
It has the potential to deliver safety solutions for making our streets, public transport, and public places safer and more accessible.

Rising income and skill gaps in society
Automation-savvy jobs will require new skills and offer significantly higher pay than their counterparts in other industries.
Over time the society may find itself divided into tech-friendly, high-skilled people and non-skilled people.

More leisure time at hand
Automation makes our work easier, saves us time and resources. With more leisure time in their hands, people will increasingly choose to spend more time consuming, traveling, learning, socializing, or enjoying new tech such as AR, VR, etc.

IoT Security - Do’s And Don’ts

There’s nothing new to be said about IoT. The Internet of Things is steadily making its way into our lives. Pretty soon, our home and industrial machines will be seamlessly communicating with each other.

However, such an advanced technology comes with its own set of challenges, especially in the realm of security. That’s why today, I’ve decided to share a few IoT security do’s and don’ts that you might find useful.

IoT Security Do’s:
· Start small and grow incrementally
· Keep a dedicated IoT team at hand to handle complications rapidly
· Understand how all your devices integrate with each other
· Create a separate network for IoT to function
· Use different passwords

IoT Security Don’ts:
· Connect unless needed
· Keep universal plug-and-play on at all times
· Thoughtlessly integrate with cloud services
· Allow personal devices in close proximity

Got anything else to add to my list? Do share your thoughts in the comments below.

Why A Business Must Be Rooted In Ethics

Business and ethics...sounds like an oxymoron?

Today, we live in a society where entrepreneurs are elevated to the status of pop stars. Large companies control the world economy today. And nations rally around corporate houses that have become quasi-governments in their own right.

While I'm not here to argue about the merits or demerits of corporatization, as an entrepreneur myself, I must say one thing: all growing forces, even business forces, must be rooted in ethics.

True, businesses exist by making profits. But that should never be the sole purpose of their existence. Instead, businesses should strive to provide value to customers. At the same time, the end goal of a business house should be to uplift society and take humanity forward. To ensure that, a business should always keep ethical principles at its core.

The Bionic Human - Fact Or Fantasy?

Bionic humans, i.e., people with engineered devices integrated into the human body, have long held a place in science fiction. However, can the Bionic Human truly ever become a reality?

The answer, if you ask us, depends on the definition of a bionic human. It's no secret that humans are already getting implants in the form of artificial limbs, pacemakers, and cochlear devices. There are even ocular implants that can help visually challenged individuals navigate the world.

Then, you have amputees with artificial prostheses, such as hands and legs, which enable them to live a normal (or near-normal) life. In fact, technology has already paved the way for brain implants that augment cognition.

So, it seems that the bionic human is not only a reality but already here. Perhaps, there will come a time when instead of wearables, we'll soon be using implants in our daily lives.

Would you get an implant to augment your abilities? Do comment and let me know.

Analog Vs. Digital - Which Is Harder To Hack?

Hacking has become something of a pop-culture phenomenon that conjures images of hooded personas sitting in semi-dark rooms, working wonders with their digital skills.

But if you think carefully, the term itself is older than computers. Hacking essentially means taking any technology apart and retrofitting it to perform something other than it was originally intended to. Seen in that light, any form of re-engineering or reverse engineering can be considered “hacking.”

The real question is: which technology is harder to hack: analog or digital?

Well, if you ask me, I’d say both are equally open to hacking. In the hands of skilled engineers (such as the experts here at Bits & Board Technologies), legacy analog and digital systems can easily be upgraded to conform to the latest standards. In fact, that’s why we have a dedicated wing for digitizing old analog systems here at BBT. https://lnkd.in/eD5cRvJ

There are still many industries which are yet to make the transition from analog to digital. BBT utilizes its varied experience of working with digital systems & help industry leaders make the move from analog to digital systems.
