Beyond the Examination Hall: Supporting Mothers, Empowering Dreams
An examination is not always just about books, classrooms, and question papers. Sometimes, it is about courage, sacrifice, responsibility, and the determination to create a better future.

During the BBOSE Class 10th examinations, we witnessed something truly inspiring. Several of our women learners arrived at the examination centres with their young children and newborn babies. While their mothers were inside the examination halls, our team members stepped forward and took care of the children, ensuring that the mothers could appear for their examinations with peace of mind and confidence.

For us, this was more than an act of support. It was a reflection of our team's empathy, commitment, and deep understanding of the realities our learners face.
These mothers have already overcome numerous barriers to continue their education. Their responsibilities did not stop when they entered the examination centre. Yet, they chose to pursue their dreams and give themselves a second chance at education.
And our team chose to stand beside them.

We feel immensely proud and grateful to each and every team member who went beyond their assigned responsibilities and supported our learners with such compassion and dedication. Their willingness to care for the children and newborns while their mothers were writing their examinations truly reflects the spirit of teamwork, humanity, and service that we strive to uphold.
A heartfelt thank you to our entire team for demonstrating that supporting education is not only about facilitating examinations, but also about understanding and responding to the real-life challenges of our learners.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our valued partner, Educate Girls, for their continued trust and support in creating second-chance educational opportunities for young women and adolescents.

🇮🇳 This Independence Day, Let Education Be Her Freedom
True independence begins when every woman has the freedom to learn, dream, and shape her own future.
This Independence Day, we celebrate the courage of 600+ women learners who travelled from different locations of Katihar to appear for their Class 10 examination in Purnea, some covering nearly 180 km in a day.
Many had been away from education for 5, 10 years, or even longer. Today, they are not just appearing for an examination. They are reclaiming their dreams, their confidence, and their right to build a better future.
At Baliga Trust, we believe that education is one of the strongest pathways to women's empowerment, dignity, independence, and lasting social change. Through our second-chance education initiatives, we are committed to ensuring that no woman has to give up on her dream of education because of circumstances.
Their determination inspires us.
Their dreams strengthen our purpose.
Their education is their empowerment.
And their independence is our shared responsibility.

On 25 July 2026, the BBOSE Class 10th examinations began with the practical examinations, marking a deeply meaningful milestone in the journey of our learners.

We are immensely proud to share that more than 600 young women and adolescent girls aged 15–29 years appeared for their examinations. These learners had to discontinue their education due to various financial, family, social, religious, and personal challenges, including early marriage and family responsibilities.

Through the Pragati initiative, Baliga Trust has provided these women with a second chance to complete their Class 10th education through BBOSE. After nearly a year of dedicated preparation, continuous engagement, learning support, and unwavering efforts, we are now witnessing a truly emotional moment: smiling faces, renewed confidence, and thousands of dreams for a brighter and more empowered future.

This is not merely the beginning of an examination. It is the fulfilment of countless dreams, the celebration of unwavering determination, and the culmination of months of hard work and dedication. Seeing our learners step into the examination centres with confidence and hope has been an incredibly emotional, inspiring, and unforgettable experience for all of us.

The pride and joy we feel today are beyond words. Every learner standing there represents a story of courage, resilience, and determination to rewrite her own future.

Some individuals do not merely witness history, they shape it. The extraordinary journey of Aruna Asaf Ali Ji stands as a timeless testament to courage, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to social transformation.
From being one of the most fearless leaders of India's freedom struggle to becoming a recipient of the nation's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, Aruna Asaf Ali Ji dedicated her life to the service of the country and its people. Her remarkable role during the Quit India Movement made her a symbol of resilience, determination, and patriotism, inspiring generations of Indians to stand for justice and freedom.
Following Independence, her commitment to public service continued with equal passion. As the first Mayor and later Chairperson of Delhi, she worked tirelessly to strengthen civic governance and contribute to the development of the nation's capital. Her leadership was marked by integrity, vision, and an unwavering focus on the welfare of citizens.
Believing that lasting change begins with empowering communities, she established the Dr A. V. Baliga Memorial Trust, creating a platform dedicated to education, child rights, women's empowerment, skill development, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods. Today, the Trust proudly carries forward her vision, impacting thousands of lives across India and nurturing opportunities for the most vulnerable communities.

Sharing a few glimpses from the National Consultation – Children and Youth Together Against Child Labour, organized by the Campaign Against Child Labour (CACL) as part of the annual hashtag campaign, observed from National Anti-Child Labour Day (30 April) to World Day Against Child Labour (12 June).
Centered on the theme "From Commitment to Action for a Child Labour-Free India," the consultation brought together children, youth, civil society organizations, and key stakeholders to strengthen collective action towards eliminating child labour and ensuring every child's fundamental right to education.
The discussions highlighted the importance of meaningful participation of children and young people in shaping solutions, strengthening accountability, and driving sustainable change. Their voices, experiences, and aspirations serve as a powerful reminder that ending child labour requires not only strong policies but also collective commitment and action at every level.
As we mark World Day Against Child Labour, let us reaffirm our shared responsibility to create an environment where every child is in school, learning, growing, and realizing their full potential.

**World Day Against Child Labour | 12 June 2026**

Child labour is not merely a violation of a child’s rights. It is a denial of childhood, education, dignity, safety, and the opportunity to achieve one’s full potential.

Observed every year on **12 June**, the **World Day Against Child Labour** was established by the International Labour Organization (ILO) to mobilize governments, organizations, communities, and individuals to eliminate child labour in all its forms.

At **Dr. A.V. Baliga Memorial Trust**, we firmly believe that every child deserves the right to learn, dream, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. Through our ** ** campaign, we continue to work towards ensuring that children are in classrooms, not workplaces; holding books, not tools; and building futures, not bearing burdens.

On this important day, let us renew our collective commitment to:

✅ Protect children from exploitation and hazardous labour
✅ Ensure access to quality education for every child
✅ Strengthen community awareness and accountability
✅ Create opportunities that enable children to thrive with dignity and hope

🌟 Summer Camp 2026 | Day 6: Healthy Child, Happy Child 🌟
The sixth day of our Summer Camp 2026 was successfully organized around the theme "Healthy Child, Happy Child", focusing on promoting health awareness, creativity, and holistic development among children.
More than 35 children actively participated in a range of engaging learning activities designed to strengthen their knowledge and life skills. The session emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and proper handwashing practices, helping children understand how simple healthy habits can prevent diseases and contribute to overall well-being.
To enhance communication skills and concentration, children enthusiastically participated in a tongue twister activity, which encouraged learning through fun and interactive methods. A vibrant face-painting session further provided a platform for self-expression and creativity, bringing excitement and joy to the camp environment.
The children also learned about the importance of healthy and nutritious food, including the benefits of a balanced diet, green vegetables, fruits, and other nutritious foods that support healthy growth and development.
As part of the World Environment Day (05 June) celebrations, drawings created by the children were reviewed and evaluated. Two young participants were recognized for their outstanding artwork and awarded prizes by Mr. Asif. This appreciation not only celebrated their creativity but also motivated other children to actively engage in future activities.
The day successfully combined health education, creative expression, environmental awareness, and joyful learning, reinforcing our commitment to creating safe and enriching spaces where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Strengthening collaboration for a child labour-free future!

A Multi-Stakeholder Meeting was successfully organized in Rajauli, Nawada, bringing together more than 30 participants from diverse sectors committed to child rights and community development. The meeting witnessed active participation from representatives of the Education and Health Departments, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI), Anganwadi Centres, ASHA workers, children and youth representatives, along with partner organizations including Population Foundation of India (PFI), PCI India, Bhartiya Jan Utthan Parishad (BJUP), and Gram Nirmal Mandal.

The meeting served as an important platform for collective reflection, planning, and strengthening convergence among stakeholders. Key discussions included:

🔹 Review of activities and actions undertaken during the last three months.

🔹 A participatory group exercise through which stakeholders jointly developed a Charter of Demands. The charter will be submitted to the concerned departments to facilitate necessary action and support.

🔹 Sharing of ongoing initiatives and progress under the 44 Days Campaign.

🔹 Discussion on the critical role of multi-stakeholders in ensuring the sustainability of interventions and advancing the shared vision of a child labour-free district.

🔹 Consensus on organizing quarterly virtual meetings to maintain momentum, strengthen coordination, and ensure continued collective action.

The meeting reinforced the importance of partnership, accountability, and community ownership in addressing child labour and safeguarding children's rights. Through sustained collaboration and coordinated efforts, we can create lasting change and build a future where every child has access to education, protection, and opportunities to thrive.
