Indian Government to Take 35.8% Stake in third largest telco Vodafone Idea (Vi).

The government is also taking a 9.5% stake in Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) through the same route, according to announcements made on Tuesday.

After taking stakes in Vodafone Idea Ltd. and TTML, the government will be holding ownership in four telcom companies in the country including two state-owned firms — Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL).
