Advantech to provide IPC solutions to fabric maker Everest Textile

Taiwan-based industrial PC (IPC) supplier Advantech and fabric maker Everest Textile have announced a partnership under which Advantech will provide solutions for data gathering and transmission as well as gateway and IPC systems for better control.

Everest started investing in smart industrial equipment since 2015 and plans to invest NT$350 million (US$10.45 million) over three years to upgrade its three production sites worldwide.

In addition to the partnership with Everest, Advantech is also looking to combine its Internet of Things (IoT) solutions with other applications such as medical, food and security.

Advantech will first install equipment and hardware/software-integrated services to collect data from Everest's production lines and will analyze the data to create automated production lines to help the plants to enter computer-integrated manufacturing stage. Advantech will also use enterprise resource planning (ESP) system to help the automated production lines become smarter and find the most suitable process to produce and manage high quality fabric.

With the adoption of the IoT system, Everest will be able to significantly reduce the number of workers.
