Blue Tokai may have cracked something bigger than the influencer campaign.
At KlugKlug, we analysed its influencer activity between May and August.
527 influencers. 665 posts. 26.13M views.
That is 3–5x the visibility generated by comparable coffee brands during the same period.
But the bigger insight came from one cultural moment.
Blue Tokai’s appreciation post around the Janpath gesture generated 1.62M views, 132K likes and 923 comments, making it one of its highest-performing posts.
The lesson goes beyond influencer volume.
Gen Z notices how brands behave in moments that matter. When that behaviour feels genuine, people participate in the conversation rather than simply consume the content.
The provocation for brands is simple:
You can borrow cultural symbols, manufacture relatability and chase Gen Z attention. Or you can behave meaningfully when nobody thinks it is a campaign.
