I know this is turning out to be a bleak month, with COVID cases rising, hospitals being overwhelmed and lockdowns being imposed. Meanwhile, reels on Facebook and Instagram have people celebrating life (while secretly dealing with their own mess).

So here's a little upliftment for you. This is not a post against death... This is a post about understanding each other's pain.Through all this Instagram, Tick Tock updates, learning to keep it real.

Don't worry, Pepper is absolutely fine..It was Tigmo we were remembering, who we lost about 5 years ago... A lifetime ago, but the pain is like it was yesterday :)
It was a harrowing experience for all of us, specifically for Pepper, who would go around sniffing his collar and bowl, looking for him.
One thing we remember distinctly about him was that whenever he would get scolded, he would come and hide under our workstations, as if he were still a little puppy. That, and the fact that he made a perfectly cozy foot rest :)

So his sudden passing created this void, we wanted to give into the pain and never get attached to any animal ever again.
The question remained, would that bring peace to Tigmo? No. So, instead we chose to celebrate how he lived and loved...and that gave us the courage to love again.
Even after he was gone, we allowed our hearts to connect with other fuzzballs..So much so there came a time when we had seven dogs and one cat, ( yup! we got carried away). And yes, the cat would judge all the dogs, looking down on them like lesser mortals.

All I want to say is that those who are with us and those who have departed will never stop being part of our family. And when we choose to be brave and love again, the pack keeps growing.

"Save the world, then we can balance the books" -- Tenet.

We have all read/watched/played stories of larger than life heroes, who didn't have time for love and rest while they were saving the world. Be it Frodo Baggins, Luke Skywalker or the Master Chief, they all spent their lives saving the world without an ounce of rest or love.

But story of the OG of world saving heroes goes a little differently.

There was once a God who poured himself into mortal form so he could tell his children how much he loved all. He didn't differentiate between rich or poor, worthy or unworthy; in fact, he once said I have come to heal the sick, to give good news to the poor, to announce pardon to prisoners and give back sight to the blind, to set the burdened and battered free. Like the rain falls on all, his love was for all. So to give life, He chose death... To save us, he gave himself up.

But that's past, today we have more important needs.

How can God's love save me when there is so much that needs to be done?

Happiness today is valued in money, comforts and personal freedom.

How can the love of a God who sacrificed himself two millennia ago help us now?

"Peace is a very expensive commodity in my country" -- Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, 2019 Nobel Peace Prize winner.

It's true. The most expensive commodity in the world is peace. And the only currency it accepts is trust.

But who would you trust in a world of 7.8 billion, and each one wanting to have it all?

Perhaps the God who sacrificed himself two millennia ago could help? Who gave so you and I can have. So you and I can know we are always loved by the one who made us :)
