We've heard the question before: why hasn't Debug With The Monk had a female guest yet?

Fair point.
And we're glad this is the episode that changes that.

On Episode 12, we welcome Priyanka Shah, a 5x Microsoft AI MVP and Chief AI Architect (APAC) at Avanade, for a conversation that goes deep into enterprise AI, from oil & gas to healthcare, and doesn't shy away from talking about the gender gap in AI leadership either.

This one's overdue, and it's worth the watch.

We once celebrated AI for predicting the next word.

Today, we're exploring what happens when AI moves beyond predictions and into the way we work.

But are we keeping up with the technology, or just keeping up with the headlines?

In the upcoming episode of Debug with the Monk, Himanshu and Priyanka dive into AI experimentation, Copilot, MCP, and the shift from understanding AI to actually working with it.

πŸŽ™οΈ A conversation about where AI is headed, and what it takes to keep up.

Stay tuned for New Episode.

How do you bring AI into a business that's been running the same way for 20 years without tearing everything down?

Matt Elsey, a Microsoft AI Transformation Leader, breaks it down in this clip: don't rearchitect your data from scratch. Wrap AI around your legacy systems instead.

He talks through data products, MCP, and why the smartest enterprises are building on top of what already works rather than starting over.

We go deep on:
β†’ Why tokenomics, not model capability, is the real bottleneck for enterprise AI right now
β†’ The data risk nobody talks about when you hand information to frontier models
β†’ Whether "SaaS is dead" is true or just a headline
β†’ How hiring for technical talent has quietly changed at Microsoft

Plus a rapid-fire round where Matt calls out the most overused phrases in enterprise AI today.

Last month, our hiring panel sat down to rework how we interview D365 architects.

The old bar was module depth. Know the product inside out, and you were in.

We realised that bar doesn't work anymore. Not because depth stopped mattering, but because the job itself changed underneath it.
Turns out we're not the only ones rethinking this.

On this week's Debug with the Monk, we sat down with Matt Elsey, a Microsoft AI Transformation Leader with 15 years in the Dynamics ecosystem, and he said something that made our whole hiring conversation click into place:
"Nobody's going to be judging you on writing lines of code in interviews anymore."

He also gets asked point blank: is agentic AI in enterprises still stuck in pilot mode three years from now, or fully transformed?

His answer isn't the hedge you'd expect.

Would you rather fly a plane or debug a data model? πŸ›©οΈ vs πŸ“Š

We asked Alex Whittles (Founder, Purple Frog Data Analytics | Microsoft Data Platform MVP) that and a few more in the rapid fire round that closed out Episode 10 of Debug with the Monk.
Before this, we spent a full hour talking about why AI turns "rubbish in, rubbish out" into "rubbish in, enhanced rubbish out," why most AI projects fail without solid data governance, and what it really takes to earn a Microsoft MVP title.

But in this final segment, we kept it light:
β†’ The most "unique" leave application he's received while hiring
β†’ Flying a plane vs. debugging a data model
β†’ Power BI or Fabric, forced to pick just one
Sometimes the best insights come out when you're not trying too hard.

You know that moment when a conversation ends, but one specific line just won't leave your head?

That happened to us after recording with Simon Hudson.

We were talking about AI in healthcare, the obvious stuff, faster diagnoses, fewer people falling through the cracks.

But then Simon said something that shifted the whole conversation internally for us:
AI models are black boxes. You put something in, you get something out, but nobody can fully explain what happened in between.

For healthcare specifically, that's not a minor detail. That's the entire compliance problem.

If a system can't show its work, how do you validate it? How does a hospital trust it? How does a regulator sign off on it?

We ended up debating this internally for longer than we'd like to admit.

It's been a while since we sat down with Vesa Nopanen [MVP] on Debug with the Monk, and this part of the conversation still comes up in our team discussions.

We asked him a simple question: is there a real difference in AI adoption between MEA and Europe?

His answer was blunt, MEA isn't just catching up, it's pulling ahead. The willingness to bring AI into everyday work culture is significantly higher there, and organizations are actively reshaping how they operate around it, not just experimenting on the side.

It made us wonder, from where you sit, does this track?

Is AI adoption in your organization or region moving faster or slower than you expected?

Is Microsoft Contact Center ready for a 100,000-agent enterprise, or still finding its feet?

We put that question straight to πŸ”° Chris Goodwill, Microsoft MVP for Customer Service, on the latest episode of Debug with the Monk.

His answer: "I've never seen such an acceleration of development with a product."

In this clip, Chris breaks down:
β†’ Why the real advantage isn't feature parity, it's how tightly Dynamics 365 is dialed into Azure and Dataverse
β†’ What "autopilots" actually mean for the future of customer service
β†’ Why AI won't replace the human touch β€” it'll give agents their time back
β†’ How 30 years of legacy telecom infrastructure still underpins the SaaS platforms we use today

A genuinely candid take from someone who's lived the entire evolution, from Ericsson switches to Copilot.
