A smartphone can now listen to your heart.

And AI can turn those few seconds of sound into a cardiac screening signal.

At 14, Siddarth Nandyala built Circadian AI, a system designed to analyze heart sounds recorded through a smartphone and flag potential cardiac abnormalities in seconds.

The idea is surprisingly simple:
📱 Record heart sounds using a smartphone.
🧠 AI analyzes the acoustic patterns.
⏱️ A screening result can come in around 7 seconds.
🏥 Potentially concerning cases can then be sent for further clinical evaluation.

The technology has been tested in real-world settings, including Guntur Government General Hospital in Andhra Pradesh.

In two reported pilot studies there, 505 patients were screened in one study and 863 in another. Patients flagged by the system were subsequently referred for ECG, 2D echo, and cardiologist review.

Circadian AI says its technology has reached up to 96%+ accuracy, while reporting on the project has cited testing involving thousands of patients in the US and India.

4 Indian companies. One big climate AI story.

Google’s first Climate AI Accelerator across Asia-Pacific selected 16 organisations from 16 countries.

4 came from India:

• Varaha - AI + satellite imagery for carbon removal
• Terrastack - satellite data for smarter farming
• F4F - AI-powered drones for agroforestry
• Climitra - Geo-AI for invasive plants and biomass

The problems aren't new.

What’s changing is our ability to track, measure and verify what’s happening on the ground.

And that could help climate solutions scale beyond where they started.

India could be an interesting testing ground for what comes next.
